Not now. For a few years, OOS athletes were allowed to be counted as in-state. But a new law came in and took out that provision. So it cost us 20k more/year per OOS athlete.

For the most part, the top teams in one conference, were the ones to move to a different league. UConn is a big exception.

We have had this discussion before, but at the time I was unsure. But, I have asked and it's a no, it comes out of the general endowment fund. Zero money given to us in our yearly budget can go to atheletics for any reason (though UNC get a pass for the Dean Dome and tax payers fork over 1.1 million a year for up keep, I know WTF). But, we haven't had that issue in years with over 20,000 people in the Pirate Club, plus the 9,000 student in the Student Pirate Club. In fact I think this year we broke 21,000 or 22,000 members for the PC. When there is a short fall it has to come from private funds no matter what.
