RE: Tigers nearing RPI top 50; C-USA scores from first full night of league play
It seems like many of the Tigers' current wins and potential future wins are against teams hovering within 20-30 spots on either side of the RPI top 100. This includes UT, No. Iowa, Loyola MD, & Oral Roberts (W's), and Harvard, UCF, Tulsa, Southern Miss, and Xavier. A win at UTEP would be nice, and it would really help if Memphis can win most of those games against top-100ish schools. What would be even better is for enough of those teams to perform well enough in conference play to get a few of their RPIs in the top 100. Because as far as a tournament resume goes for Memphis, a record of 9-3 or so against the top 100 might be one of the only real building blocks they have, besides (hopefully) a strong RPI of 30 or better.
Double-digit wins against the top 100 just may not be that likely, unfortunately. It's too bad. I'm still very annoyed by the way the game against Louisville went down. It was downright nonsense. One signature win and no one is sweating out the entire conference season. It is what it is though..

That was one of the most awesome single game defensive efforts ever.

I wouldn't doubt it.
ESPN shows them at 32.3% for the year, so they'll probably go 15 of 23 against us and thus be right at their season average over the 2 game span.

The Tigers really stretched thier defense where ECU couldn't make them toward the end of the game....UAB will probably suffer the same fate.

To steal from Easterwood I'd like to see 40 minutes of hell instead of 10 minutes of hell and 30 minutes of what the hell?

We will break the top 50 in the RPI if we win tonight as long as our opponents we played so far don't bomb it.
