RE: SEMO Thread
this saturday,,,,,,,,,,
for your men, itll be more of the same vs. utm. expect probably a triple digit score from the byrd boys with a margin of 40 or more

it seems that the belmont women have always had their troubles vs. utm. this saturday, yep, theyll have their troubles, but i think theyll finally knock off the skyhawks. scoring in the 70s, belmont by 5

I wasn't surprised by the win. Here's what makes how convincing the win was that was somewhat of a surprise to me. SEMO was noted for their defense. This is the pregame notes copied from the SEMO site.

Offense vs. Defense
Thursday's game between Belmont and Southeast features the league's best field goal percentage offense against the top field goal percentage defense. The Bruins, who are outscoring opponents by an Ohio Valley Conference leading +12.1 margin, are shooting 47.3 percent from the floor. Defensively, the Redhawks are holding opponents to 38 percent from the field and rank 30th nationally. Southeast is also third in the OVC and 47th in the nation defending the three, as opponents are shooting 29.3 percent. Five opponents (Missouri, Central Arkansas, New Orleans, Austin Peay, Murray State) shot over 40 percent from the field against Southeast this season. The Governors own a season-best .531 field goal percentage against the Redhawks on Jan. 3. It marked the first time in 21-straight games where an opponent shot 50 percent or better.

i checked the box stats. belmont shot 61.5%.

considering its vs. semo, im sure that stat sends a bigger message to the league than the score does
