Yep. Let the Illness play them. They desperately need the wins, although a win for them against anyone is not a sure thing.

2013 is a defining year for the program. We either build on this year and continue to progress toward becoming the next BCS buster / Boise of the Midwest type program or we bust and become another Hawaii.

If wins are the object, why do we play the Big 10 schools? Ah, I know, it's for the money. But, why risk losses? Maybe we should just dumb down our schedule and play the worst of the FBS and FCS teams for our OOC games.

If that's the road we need to take to get to another BCS game, we don't deserve it. We have no control over our conference games, but we do over the OOC games. And...keep playing the Little Sisters of the Poor and watch what happens to Huskie Stadium attendance.

Then Boise St does not belong because AD Compher is scheduling very closely if not harder than Boise St does for the OOC games.

Boise played va tech. Oregon a few times. Georgia. And had success...

We need to beat those teams before we can join Boise's world.

Agree but AD Compher is doing what is needed in that department.

I would be more excited for the trip to WF next year than the trip to Purdue this year.

Agree one hundred per cent. We should not consider it a major victory to beat a middle of the road big 10 team (anyone other than OSU UM MSU or PSU) or other BCS conference team (Wake Forest Vandy Maryland NC State). We have the premier PROGRAM in the MAC, not team. KSU was a top notch team this year but they have no history. We have 12 years of continued success and growth.

We should win both of our B10 games next year.

There obviously is absolutely no advantage in joining the Big East now, none whatsoever.

Let's be real here. Yes the cost to keep our sports would be up significantly from the MAC. Big drawback. On the flip side though TV contract will still be better, bowl access will be better (Liberty Bowl? Bowl games against teams besides the Sun Belt?) and from a basketball perspective multi bid league with more NCAA tourney earnings power. Temple and Memphis and possibly UMass guarantee this even if Cinci and UConn leave.

Guys Boise State isn't even staying. I think they have a great résumé compared to anyone in our conference. Going to the Big East doesn't make any sense travel wise or revenue wise.

The only way its possible worth it is if its 3 MAC teams join together outside of UMASS. If the Big East poaches more MAC teams than just UMASS, I know I wouldnt want to stick around with more FCS call ups... id rather go with the Big East.

With Boise out the league is no longer able to say plausibly that they're positioning themselves to have a virtual lock on the G5 access spot in the BCS. And unless any league does that, we're all best served by being in a sensible, regional alignment.

Boise was looking at an even bigger travel cost than us and every sport but football was being downgraded to to make it work. Plus I am pretty sure SDSU and also eventually BYU (the big free agent prize) will be back in MWC. That with the existing MWC regional lineup makes too much sense for them to stay. We are basically leaving an Ohio and Michigan dominated conference. Much different in my opinion. Keep in mind Boise did jump out of the WAC after outgrowing the conference. We may not quite be there yet but we should definitely be keeping a very close eye on everything around us. Some times getting too comfortable is a bad thing as well.

It won't happen, and I kind of hope it doesn't, but the Big East grabbing NIU, Ohio, Miaim/Toledo would be a decent move for them at this point, that and a solid east coast contingency is a good conference.

RE: BR - Huskies to Big East...
After this momentum we have gained we just dont want to be left on the outside looking in. We proved 3 things during this orange bowl run, now we need to prove 2 more:

1. If our fanbase is energized, we will travel and spend money.
2. We ranked the 4th most watched bowl game, 2nd best rating of all time in Chicago -Chicago cares if the success is there.
3. The team is competitive and besides a bad game by Lynch, we kept it close going into the 4th against a very very good FSU team.

Now:
1. We need to prove we show up for home games.
2. We can reload and compete in multiple seasons and rack in 2 B10 wins next year away.
