That would be an excellent decision. They can keep the momentum going. Especially if Hackett remains as the OC.

What I'm hearing is Hackett the OC is staying too...that is key. Most think the staff will stay together...maybe lose 2-3 guys at most.

I think he will do fine. Sometimes you never know how well a coach will do when they become a head coach. Obviously, in this situation he has been on the staff for 4 years so the AD knows exactly what they have. Its a fairly safe pick.

So much turmoil this late in the game has got to hurt what was already a less than impressive recruiting class, although with the high number of jucos I would assume a significant portion of your class is already enrolled in school.

Certainly not helpful at this point. I do not think we have lost any recruits yet.
I guess in some ways it is a compliment that the NFL wants a head coach and offensive coordinator from Syracuse. I think a number of players have enrolled already including the quarterback Zac Allen who is supposed to be very good pro-style quarterback.

I'm not too sure who has and hasn't enrolled yet. I think the JUCO's could have been Marrone's way of "softening the blow". Which won't matter if we lose Gus Edwards and Devan Carter. Both remain verbals, but are going to be visiting other schools now. Edwards is going to visit Rutgers, Florida State, and Miami. Carter is going to visit Rutgers. Both are NY products and it'd hurt to lose them.

Absolutely...I heard Clemson is trying to get our QB recruit (Allen outta TX). Losing Hackett puts his commitment into serious doubt.

I'm surprised re: Hackett. I know Hackett was a QC coach with the Bills and Bucs (fans found his old Bills bio on Google). My preference with the Bills would have been someone with more pro experience, at least someone who had more position coach experience. If its true that Hackett used a playbook similar to the K-Gun offense the Bills ran with Jim Kelly, that's interesting.

And the Nassib to Buffalo stuff will no doubt commence in earnest.

Since its an ACC board and I don't know how much this will mess with recruiting other than what others have said, I'll leave that alone. I think they'll stick with the defensive recruits, since they committed to a style of play that the new HC intends to play. Offense no doubt would be up in the air.
