Think Twice
Seems Mick would be wise to think twice before he calls out the fans for attendance after 3 straight losses at home. All big games. I'm not saying fans shouldn't support but tough to gain momentum with fan base when you double down and bust.

RE: Think Twice
I had 2 groups of season ticket holders offer me tickets before 2 pm. Then 2 more groups of season ticket holders offered me tickets around 3:30ish or so. All said they weren't going to the game because they'd rather watch the national championship game. And some were kind of fed up with the crappy play.

Funny thing is I got slammed for not going, yet my friends who are season ticket holders chose not to go either.

Other than the student section, the regular crowd did have alot of holes in it.

Fans don't want to watch a team that can't score.

RE: Think Twice
The most overrated, horrible shooting and poorly coached team UC has had in a long time. I can see this team losing 10 or 11 games this year, if not more. Time Cronin starts recruiting bb players that can shoot instead of athletes that can't, especially if they are only going to press the crap teams at the start of the year.

RE: Think Twice
Attendance was over 10k. Other than the upper level corners the crowd was pretty good.

Other than the highest corners and some empty spaces in the lower level prime seats, I thought the crowd looked pretty good on tv.

RE: Think Twice
I went to the game and thought the atmosphere was pretty solid until the game was decided and then people were upset. The bottom line is that we have a disgruntled fanbase right now for a lot of reasons. Conference realignment, Butch Jones, losing 3 straight home games, underachieving in basketball... and most of us just happen to be Bengals fans that are angry about the weekend.

I think it will blow over to an extent (especially if the team starts playing better), but the conference stuff has really taken some of the air out of everything that is happening. That one could be a long term problem.

Yes, the conference issue is the dark cloud that follows UC right now win or lose. Losing three straight at home and likely dropping out of the top 25 next week certainly won't energize the fan base or boost attendance in January.

RE: Think Twice
I'm just tired of watching a basketball team that consistently displays a lower BB iq than its opponents. Why can't Mick get guys who can run a half court offense? Make free throws? Its frustrating to hear "worst free throw shooting team In the Big East" year after year...

RE: Think Twice
Could not attend last night, but the special uniforms looked horrible on TV. Nearly impossible to read player numbers/names and the graphics on them were the same "overdesigned" look as the current unis. Neither the team nor the unis represented well last night for what may have been the largest TV audience of the season.

Remember the preseason when people were saying that UC was going to press and play up tempo for 40 minutes with 12 guys. Guess that's not happening. Looks more like a slow down burn 30 seconds and fire up a bad shot philosophy has taken over.

The Big East season ticket package was a great idea; hopefully the program will see 10k + for all BE home games.
