You obviously didn't take my advice the last time I responded to this ignorance.
Pearl was concentrating on ATL at the end of his tenure ..he knew he was not going to get players we wanted ..... FACT
You still have not answered the FACT that the last Memphis player utk signed (that Memphis offered) was Tony Harris 15 years ago....
But....John and Josh said....that it would hurt our recruiting....but but...they said...they said.
Ned, I agree 100%.
Anyone that is scared of UT having "exposure" (whatever the hell that means) is either
A) Trying to get our fanbase wound up
B) A plain and simple COWARD
If we start losing HIGH LEVEL recruits to the University of TN in basketball, then we have much bigger problems than them playing here once every TWO years.
If you're scared, just say "we don't feel that playing UT has any real advantages for us". "It hurts my chance at playing another buy game against real competition like Harvard or Lipscomb". "I think we're eons better than them, despite the fact that they hold a 14-11 series advantage over us".
It's either A, or B. Nothing else matters.

So explain to me why Calipari and Josh both would pass on a series with Tennessee. Are you seriously going to sit there and tell me that both of them are scared of TN?
Please son.
Besides, before the Big East decided to fall apart, you would have been an absolute moron to keep TN on the schedule. There was no need what so ever to have them. Now that the big east has wilted, there is a better argument, but I don't think anyone is suggesting you take TN off and replace them with a cupcake. I don't think anyone is going to agree with Josh going that route. However, thats not what we are talking about here. We are discussing THE FACT, that from TENNESSEE'S PERSPECTIVE, this is ALL ABOUT RECRUITING MEMPHIS
its a fact...

i don't care why utk wants to play us..the fact is the last time they beat us on a player was 16 seasons ago..... you are worried about recruiting
Louisville managed to play Ky.u every year even though they in the big east.
i am stating facts while you are attempting to hurl insults at your superior.

The entire focus of TNs recruiting this last year was to land Austin Nichols. Everything was built around Nichols.
Obviously, they failed. However landing a top recruit in Memphis IS a priority for TN.

These two could have absolutely been run away winners if they had been put into separate polls. LOL

utk has gotten ONE recruit out if Memphis in 20 years..how in the hell is this about recruiting?
Well, there's Stokes, PJ Prince, Dane Bradshaw, Tony Harris. That's 4 ... still not a very good track record though.
If for some stupid reason, you didn't want to play at Memphis and you are from Memphis, to me there are better options that are as close to home, or almost as close as Knoxville: Vandy, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, hell ... Norman, OK isn't that much further than Knoxville.
stokes could not come to memphis
pj went to az.. then wanted totrsnsfer to Vandy ..only when he could get not get in did he go to utk
dane bradshaw was never offered at memphis..
harris is the only player in the last 20 years to choose utk over memphis

He doesn't count. Nobody from west TN counts unless Memphis was recruiting them. This is some peoples logic anyway.

We would have definitely taken Wayne Chism but Willie Kemp was the plum in that deal ..also they are not from Memphis or Shelby County.. they are from an area that is dominated by utk ... not Memphis ...so using the logic of the ones afraid to play utk..the series helped us recruit Kemp more than it helped utk sign Chism (I think both suppositions are silly)

Caring about what players TN gets and acknowledging that they want to play here for exposure which basically means its about recruiting is two different things. As long as this thread is, you still haven't comprehended the basic principle. The basis of the poll. The basis of the entire point. You sir, are the one that is

Don't use logic to argue with this clown. He thinks that just because they have had minimal success in the past that it basically means they will always have minimal success in the future. Its an awful argument. Just awful.
