Not the boards and my replay shows we gave up almost everything that said we dominated. Let's just say we won without our big man but they were without theirs also.

Mayman hasn't played all year.

Nothing new about that.

That's an obtuse and odd thing to say. He still missed the game.

He's missed every game this year. I'd say that info worth mentioning.

Tarik has played most of the year, thus his absence has a bigger impact. The team has developed a style and flow that INCLUDES him. UT has been playing without Maymon all season so they are use to it.

Playing without a guy you've had in your rotation all year is a lot bigger deal than playing without a guy you haven't had all along.

So NO, the two are NOT the same thing.

OK---let's get a couple of things straight.

I am a 6 decade Tiger fan, and I hate UT as much as any Tiger fan.

But, I'm against blowing smoke and this smells like a smoke screen:

http://tennessee.scout.com/2/1255417.html
Maymon's absence has left a gaping hole in the lineup as Tennessee has struggled to an 8-4 record this season. The Vols are shooting 42.4 percent as a team and averaging 64.5 points per game.
Maymon, a 6-foot-7, 265-pound transfer from Marquette, led the 2011-12 Vols in rebounds (8.1 per game), double-doubles (nine), field-goal percentage (55.8), field goals made (4.5 per game), steals (1.0 per game), deflections (71), three-point plays (13) and charges drawn (18). He led the entire SEC in free-throw attempts last regular season with 184.
After playing sparingly in 2010-11, Maymon had his breakout performance against Memphis on Nov. 11, 2011. He registered 32 points and 20 rebounds that day, becoming the first Vol since Steve Hamer (31 points, 21 rebounds versus Alabama on March 7, 1996) to post 20 points and 20 rebounds in the same game.

With Maymon sidelined, 6-foot-9, 230-pound senior Kenny Hall has taken his spot in the starting lineup. Hall is coming off one of his best games, a 13-point, 11-rebound effort in Friday night's loss to Memphis.

UT also lost two rotational guards for the game due to injuries in practice before the game.

So---Love the Tigers, but don't blow uneven smoke!

Sorry, its just not the same thing.

Mayman has not played one game all year.

Tarik has not and is a key player on THIS years team.

Its really not a big deal at all.

We beat them fair and square on their floor.

Even if I did agree (and I don't) that Tarik and Mayman being out is the same thing its still meaningless.

At least we can agree on that.
