Catholic 7
It appears that the Catholic 7 is finalizing a deal with Fox Sports 1 that would net them close to 500 million over 12 years. With the Big East TV deal expiring in 2013, it seems almost certain that the Catholic 7 will break away and form their new league starting next season. If this happens, the Big East will fall apart in 2013.

The ACC has said that they would accept Louisville in at anytime. My gut tells me that U of L will be in the ACC for the upcoming 2013 football season. There is no way that Tom Jurich will suffer through a conference season with the Catholic 7 not being a part of it. Very bad for our basketball product.

On Wednesday the "7" are meeting with Fox and I believe a deal will be finalized. When the "7" forgo the 27 month Big East waiting period, this will open the door for Louisville to leave immediately. Maryland's status in the ACC will not matter. The ACC wants Louisville in ASAP, especially now that Louisville has a legitimate Heisman candidate and a National Championship football contending team.

$500 million/12 years/7 teams averages out to ~$6 million/year. That seems a little high for BB only.

I believe the ACC is working on/has contingency plans for the various combinations of Louisville, Notre Dame and Maryland. It may not be pretty but it will work.

The new league will have 10 to 12 schools. I saw that each of the initial 7 schools would receive 5 million a year and the other additions would receive a half a share. A10 schools are only receiving $400,000 a year now, so if they where to receive 2.5 million a year they'd take it in a heart beat.
