I wasn't on board back then, but it's my understanding that we went into Alabama and pounded the football down their throats. Something to be said for that.

I think our O-line in 2003 was the best O-line we have ever had.

Need to get back to that point. Hope our current group grows into that.

RE: NIU Poised for another BCS Run
The line in 03 was one of our best but I thought Turner the Burner made them look even better. Against Maryland and Alabama, I remember Turner being met constantly at the line of scrimmage and bulldozing his way for a 5-yard gain. Our line did not dominate those games. Turner was just too difficult to bring down. I would say this year's line with development can eclipse that group though we may never have another Ryan Diem.

I think the O-line in 2000-2001 was actually a bit better. There just wasn't some of the other talent surrounding them.

This year's O-line was fine. They were amazing based on the fact that they were running with the 2's in practice last year. Loos expects to be back healthy for summer and there are some redshirt freshmen coming that block out the sun. I would not be shocked to see a couple of them win jobs based on competition in camp.

I thought our offense had enough playmakers to compete against FSU this year. I just don't think we did enough to get the ball more to TLL, Martel, Perez, and our TEs. Daniels being banged up may have played a role in why our offense looked limited. I dunno.
I don't think we put our best foot forward like Boise did against Oklahoma even though I thought we were capable.

That was the Diem-lead line that basically decided that Turner was going to run for 1,000 yds as a freshman when the starter went down with a couple games to go and nearly got him the 500 he needed, right?
