Same thought here from a Rice fan, and someone looking at a team that will be stacked in 2013. The exit fee money from everyone else is probably much, much more than the differences we are talking in television contracts. And given the competition we might see next year, especially if ECU and Tulane leave early, would it be such a bad thing if Marshall and Rice waltz into the C-USA championship game each sporting 10-2 records? Sounds a lot better than being 5-7 in the nBE or MWC, and out of the post-season picture.

All you will have to do is add GaSt because for crying out loud they are in ATL the #4 media market. This seems to be the trend of the CUSA . I think all 8 of their fans will be happy for about a year until they try to leave the conference because they think they are better than you. Good luck with that

On second thought just add App st and GS and get 2 winning programs with large fanbases and plenty of potential. In the case of GS you get the Sav, Macon, Augusta, Jacksonville markets as well as a large alumni base in ATL.

Add Ga State, add South Alabama. CUSA is transforming into the Sun Belt without the name tag. What is the purpose of that? You're putting makeup on a pig (nBE). You're putting makeup on a skunk (CUSA). And you're putting makeup on poo-poo (Sun Belt). And you're attempting to put makeup on a skeleton (WAC).

...hey, I've got it! Let's ALL join the SEC!!! ...heck, we wouldn't even ask for much more than a few bones here and there for bus fare from town to town... and there's a few SEC soccer teams in CUSA already...

Well, it seems to me it leagues like the Sun Belt and the MAC who are winning some bowl games with one football program from one of those conferences even sending a team to a BCS bowl buster type of bowl game. (FWIW, I remember when UNT was in a league called the Big West that had a team or school in it that no one knew about at the time named Boise State--seems they are fairing well of late).

How many CUSA teams could have beaten ULM, U of L or Arkansas State this last season? Remember ULM who beat a (then) ranked #8 Arkansas Razorbacks earlier in the season and then the next week amost beat Auburn I believe it was? AND U of L who just won their 2'nd NO"s Bowl in a row before the largest non Big Boys bowl crowds to date? They also beat Big East bound San Diegel State in last year's NO's Bowl, too.

Yet all of the above happening while some of the mid major Big Boys sit back and let the whole entire sports world know how damn important they are to the sustenance of NCAA football and how it might all fall apart if not for their presence in it.

So UNT is like Boise State?
