I would assume once this is built that the Finch would be fully incorporated into a remodeled student facility. Would be a win for the athletic and student populations. Sounds like this facility would be best-in-class for men and women's programs.

Really hope they continue to improve the signage, roads, and access on S Campus. They've done an admirable job slowly removing all the eye sores. There are numerous vacant buildings that should be removed when this facility and the new nursing/audiology building are constructed.

At some point, the city, the business community, neighborhood groups and the University need to work together to improve Getwell from I-240 to Park, Park from Goodlett to Highland and Highland from Central to Park. It is great the University is putting so much money into the main campus and the south campus, but there also needs to be an effort to clean up some of the mess on your way to visit these areas. Getwell especially from I-240 to the south campus needs some help.
Completely agree. At least the north end of Getwell to Park intersection. Really run down area. I'm sure "the scenery" during the drive over is not lost on recruits.

What do you propose to change?

I would say most important would adding an entry to the S campus at the Park/Goodlett light. Where you can come straight down goodlett from Central straight into the S campus. Five lane road. Two entrance three exit. So center lane coming from Goodlett may turn left as they do now or go straight on the inside entrance and a turn in from east bound park on outside. Center exit goes straight up to Goodlett and right lane goes east on Park, left lane turning lane. Enter from west bound Park and exit to west bound Park on turn light ONLY..

Agreed that would be ideal...And also would make it much easier to have a consistent look

IPF construction has been delayed for redesign work to incorporate a state of the art indoor track facility.

What I can't understand about that is that as far as i know, a regulation sized indoor track won't fit around a football field, and my understanding is the NCAA has put out the word that they don't plan on granting more variances. I hope they have researched this carefully and I am wrong

I think you are right. It's likely we'll have a 90 yard field in there.

Seriously... Chings, a pawn shop, and an adult book store... What else could a college kid need? Reopen the bowling alley and the krystals and it would be perfect.

It really sucks that Krystal's is gone. That was a landmark just like the McDonalds on Highland

Anyone remember those free bigmac cards they gave out to the student section IF the student chosen hit the free throws? We made it through school eatin on those! Good times!!!

Correct. It will require a slightly shorter football field. No problem for practice, and much more efficient than building a separate indoor track facility.

The direct entrance from Goodlett was actually announced and put on the master plan a while ago. I'm not sure if they still plan on doing that or not.
