I know compared to Texas stadiums it isn't anything to boast about, but here in little ol' Mississippi, it's top notch.

That actually could pass for a Texas HS football stadium, even a 5A one (not at one of the rich suburban school districts though). Impressive.

Found a nice series of Allen's stadium. They are protected from posting into the thread, so just follow the link and cycle through.

Not bad for $60 million.

As for Houston, Cy-Fair ISD is probably the best.

That's what I was thinking. FGs and extra points could probably be contained with the net, but I also saw that a minor league soccer team plays there. No way they don't send balls into the water constantly.

The best high school stadium in my slice of North Louisiana is probably West Monroe by far. Answer me this Texas people, how the hell do all these high schools afford these extravagant big stadiums?

Most of the big extravagant stadiums are built for several schools to use and are not on campus. The money comes from local tax dollars through the sale of bonds. The bonds have been approved through elections, which means the local people support having the money spent in such a manner.

Here in Hampton Va, Darling Stadium is pretty cool. Lots of good football is played there. Home of the State Championship team 12 of the last 19 years.

Well, Petal did really good for 7 million. The inside of the field house is better than a good bit of what the JUCO's have in Mississippi.

Not bad for a town with about 12k people.

Also, just like in college, school districts receive gifts from alumni as well as from affluent parents, some who may have been athletes themselves.

Tulsa has some pretty nice stadiums with Union's Tuttel Stadium and UMAC Center leading the way.
I believe Union, Jenks, Broken Arrow, and Owasso all have video screens.

RE: High school stadiums in your town
My high school's stadium that I played for in MS, really wasn't much when I was there. The guest side had wood bleachers, the band had to site in with the fans on the home side, and fans could literally lean on the fence where the benchs were on the side line.

My wife's high school, in Niceville, FL has a really nice stadium it's not gaint but it's one of the nicest I've ever seen in person. When I first saw it, I couldn't believe they let high school kids play on it.

Is Oak Grove's stadium bigger? I was under the impression that it was one of the largest in the state but I could have been misinformed.

No one really knows what og's seats. Its been estimated at 7k. But with the hillside it could go 8. I dont think you will find one in ms larger than Meridian. Ray seats 14k

I graduated from this district in 05, the stadium opened the year after. We used to play in Pridgeon Stadium

Not a lot of good pictures of the stadium. It is pretty nice.
[Image: Hattiesburg%20MS%20Oak%20Grove%20High%20...206500.jpg][Image: Oak-Grove-Home-Side-2.jpg] I think it holds between 7 and 8k. If you count the hill, it might get up to 9k.

Petal's is nicer, but of course it is newer and was built all at once using bond money. It would have to be one of the nicest in the state. Clinton's is super nice too. Their baseball stadium is probably the nicest I've seen in this state.
