The Vol fans really followed their coach's request for a orange out, didn't they? That was a pitiful effort.

In the future, when we play them here in football, we'll play them there in basketball...it can be so simple. Work it out, ADs.

And Shaq's smile is always evident when he plays. He smiles at refs, other players, and his teammates. I LOVE watching him.

And it was GREAT to see Tarik massaging Shaq's shoulder and encouraging him from the sidelines. Tarik was a big part of this win, as was the rest of the bench.

Love this kid. Cracked me up seeing Black massaging his shoulders.

02-13-banana Well I am in Los Angeles visiting my son and grandson. We watched the game on TV and my son, a UT graduate, sorry to say, left the room and said he only cared about UT football. We looked great on TV and I thought the announcers were very complimentary of the Tigers as a team and indivudual players. My son and daughter went to UT. My son-in-law and I went to Memphis. My wife is a sometime Memphis, sometime UT fan. Games of any sport with UT bring out the quips and smart remarks from all of us during the games. It is fun and I like playing them but I hate the Orange and all of the SEC. I pull against every SEC team no matter who they play.

Gotta train em up right!

When my child, who turns 20 today, was a toddler I taught her to yell "yuck" every time she saw the color orange prominently displayed. I had to deprogram her when it came time to consider colleges. 03-wink

The Illini version of orange is much more pallatable to the eye than the Tennessee version of urnge.

Illini, Texas, Syracuse, Clemson...take your pick. They are ALL more palatable than the UT version. It looks like someone took one of those other bright, vibrant versions of orange and then pissed in it. That's what TN orange looks like.

When my oldest son made the decision to go to UT (scholarship) I told him that was fine, but I was writing him out of my will.

He has since gotten his masters from Arkansas so he now has two strikes against him....

I'm guessing 5,000 Memphis fans. And vocal. No certain section just scattered throughout.
5,000!? Not even close. Maybe 200.

The guy behind me complaining the women's team would put up a better fight. Called the Vawls, little girls who were scared to compete - not me but the UTK "fan" behind me.

One thing for sure, with all the news about Pastner saying the series was over, he got a rousing round of boos at the intro, then every time he argued a call. UTK fans kept yelling out that he was whiner, scared to play UTK. When they got down 21 early in the 2nd half the same guy admitted to me said he would be happy to not see Memphis again for a while.
Do you seriously think we had over 6500 Tigers fans there?

There are quite a few UM alums living in the Birmingham area...so I am sure there will be a good showing there.

RE: Lots of Tiger fans in UT's house -- Orange out my a##
It was hard to guage, but i was in sec 324 (i think??) and I counted 43 obvious Tigers fans between my section and the sections on either side of me. There were several others who weren't wearing orange, so I wasn't sure when counting.

If that held true through out the rest of the arena, I'd guess maybe 1,500 Tigers fans, tops, but I'd guess more like 800-1000. We were really vocal up where I was sitting, and there was a good group of about 20 all within a few rows of one another in my section. I heard the TIGERS chant get started from several different areas of the arena and we sang "I'm so glad" with about 30-40 other people in my section.

Here is all you need to know about UT and their fans at a basketball game. The loudest cheer of the entire night in TBA was when they showed and recognized Eric Berry in attendance on the scoreboard monitors. They never cheered that loud the entire time they were erasing a 21 point deficit.

Also, my opinion on TBA is that is an average arena. The sight lines inside are pretty good and the setup inside the bowl is good. The view from the upper sections is a bit better than FEF. But, the concessions and bathrooms were pretty terrible and they don't serve alcohol at all (which sucks!) Plus, the parking is terrible and the building looks like crap from the outside, especially in the shadows of such a nice looking football stadium. Who wants to park 10 blocks away and walk mostly uphill to get to the arena?
