MyBB Former NIU basketball player Nate Rucker
I was was wondering what happened to him after he left. His dad was a pretty active poster on the board for a while.

He won't play until Dec. 2013.

"KENNESAW , Ga. – Nate Rucker, who enjoyed a solid freshman season at Northern Illinois during the 2010-11 season, has joined the Kennesaw State men’s basketball program, head coach Lewis Preston announced on Friday.

Rucker, who is enrolled for the spring 2013 semester, went through his first practice on Monday (Dec. 17). The 6-foot-6, 240-pound forward will continue to practice with the Owls through the remainder of the 2012-13 season and make his Kennesaw State debut in December 2013 following the conclusion of next fall’s semester.

“We are excited to have Nate Rucker as part of the Owls family,” Preston said. “His energy, passion, athleticism and experience are a welcomed addition to our roster. His versatility will allow us to do a lot of different things offensively and defensively.”

Rucker most recently played at Southwest Tennessee Community College where he averaged 10 points and five rebounds a game while shooting 53 percent from the field in 2011-12.

During his freshman season at Northern Illinois, Rucker appeared in 30 games, starting 29, and averaged 7.1 points and 4.1 rebounds a contest while finishing second on the team in blocked shots (9) and third in steals (19). He shot a team-high 53.7 percent from the field, scored in double figures 12 times and produced two double-digit rebounding games."

Yeah, I was just reading that. He's averaging 14.0 ppg but had a real stinker against UI.

Xavier Silas update:

http://www.pressherald.com/sports/only-s...12-21.html

In Orlando, Silas almost had his skull fractured when his head was pushed down as another player was jumping up. Silas' face hit the back of the player's head.

The blow, causing a concussion, fractured bones in his forehead. Surgery was required.

"They went in, took some of the bone out, cleaned it up, inserted a titanium plate and then put 57 staples across my head," Silas said. "It was like a face-lift."

Two weeks later, Silas was preparing for the next basketball season. He plays both guard positions for Maine, while also noted for his hustle on both ends of the court.
