Guys, (and Gals) :

What do we think the actual number of Huskie fans would be for this game? Am I way off in thinking there were 10 - 15,000 maybe closer to 15,000? I was in section 414, so I couldn't see a big part of the lower deck.

No doubt we were above 15,000. I am actually thinking 20,000 or more. Tailgating was 50/50, but FSU had a drive up game-only crowd. Still, 35% of that stadium was NIU. I started in the 400 level and had an opportunity to move down to 200. Say all you want, we had about 20,000 there.

Rozner from Daily Herald estimated 35,000 Huskie fans in attendance. Not sure how accurate, he is basically saying half the stadium was Huskie fans. Sure felt like it from where I was seating.

I would say around 25000 to 30000. The entire stadium inside and out, including all of the beaches, were just flooded with Huskie fans. I'm sure some were other mid majors supporting us as well, but such an impressive number. We showed up big time.

I think the actual attd was in the high 50s. Bowl attd across the board was down. Oklahoma sold half their allotment of tickets. Our turnout was fabulous.

I counted one. I saw Diesel on TV, and he (she?) was the only actual Huskie I saw.

I think we had slightly more than the Iowa game.

I would say 54k in actual attendance...which was the announce attendance as the Sugar Bowl.

I'd say we had 20,000. Tons of Red on our side of the stadium.

No one can ever accuse/wonder if we will travel to a major bowl or playoff game.

Whatever the actual attendance ends up being...we were half of it. I have no doubt we were half.
Huskie fans represented big time!

If total attendance was 54K, at the very least 15K, my guess would be around 20K. Could not have been more impressed by the turnout. Great job by the school and fans to get so many people there.

According to the MAC on facebook, the Orange Bowl attendance was 72,000.

So if 40% of the people there were NIU fans...wouldn't that be close to 29,000? I'm telling you ...I KNOW there had to be close to 30,000 of us!

It has to be around 25k or more. The lower bowl was almost full of Huskie fans on our side. It was absolutely awesome to look to the end zone and actually see a sea of red.

I would say 60k total attendance, 25k NIU (about 40-45% of total). Quite impressed. It made me proud to be a Huskie! Plus, tv ratings were solid. ESPN may want to rescind the "they only have 15k average attendance" smirk the night of the announcement
