And a word on "packing it out", UAB doesn't want a 72K seat stadium on the Southside (for now). What we want...wait. **** that. What we NEED is an on-campus venue that seats about half that, not state-of-the-art from the damn Coolidge Administration.

Ha. If they didn't have to deal with concessions and traffic, he's probably being genuine. I spent a good bit of time with the coaches, their families, and the players. Heard nothing but praise for Birmingham. The wives couldn't stop talking about the shopping and dining experiences. At least the city, overall, made a good impression even if the stadium didn't.

The east stands were built in 1926 using revenue from the first 1000 Stadium Certificates and other monies. In 13 years they will be 100 years old. Are we ready to play there for its centennial birthday?

We will be unless the city builds something new... so, yes we will celebrate the old lady's 100th. Hopefully in winning style.

OK, so Birmingham shopping and dining is an upgrade over North Central Mississippi. And Legion Field is on par with the Ole Miss game day experience.

I've seen nothing like The Grove anywhere near Legion field, so no, game day experience isn't close.

You've obviously not been to the pre-game festivities in the apatments across the street from Legion. The Grove's got nothing on a Section 8 Housing tailgate. 04-cheers

I had forgotten why I needed the sarcasm font, until now.

UAB players in that centennial season are in kindergarten or primary grades right now. This season is the midpoint between our win at LSU and that 100th birthday of Legion Field. Like you, I want UAB to have become "used to winning" by then.
