I heard a guy say on the radio today that AP had 1400 yards after first contact.
If that is true, that is just INSANE running.

This is nothing I didn't know already. AP is the best running back right now, but it's hard to say how good DeAngelo could be with enough carries. If Deangelo doesn't have to split carries with Stewart in 2008, he probably goes over 2000 yards.

The YPC is the biggest argument in favor of Deangelo. DeAngelo hasn't had a great passing game to take pressure off pretty much his entire career.

Anyway, would be nice to see what he could do being a feature back

One they they don't talk about is fumbles. AP fumbles the ball at a considerably higher rate than Williams. DW has only had seven fumbles his career. No that's no typo, seven. AP has had 24. Yes AP has carried the ball more often but here it is when breaking breaking it down per carry:

DW career carries 1169
1 fumble for every 167 carries.

AP career carries 1754
1 fumble for every 73 carries.

So AP has fumbled the ball almost 2.5 more time per carry than DW has throughout their careers.

laugh as you will, my own biased opinion is that deangelo is probably a top 5 back and would be #1 on the depth chart if he were at any of the following places:

NE
NYJ
Bengals
Steelers
Indy
SD
Oak
Dallas
GB
Detroit
AZ

A lot of other places i think he'd split or be #1 but i can't say unilaterally. The only rbs i'd say are definitely better than Deangelo are Ray Rice, AP, Arian Foster, Marshawn Lynch.

but we'll probably never know

Adrian Peterson is an absolute freak and just might go down as the best running back of all time.

Deangelo is very good. If he was on a team that gave him touches and made him a vital part of the offense, he could be a top 5 running back. But, Peterson is on another level.

AP is on something illegal. It's obvious. He's runs like the guy all coked up that gets shot 20 times before he falls. And nobody comes back in 6 months from that kind of injury.

that's because no one can touch DeAngelo. He undoubtedly has the quickest 20-30 yard burst in football.

I could care less about yards after contact. DW scores touchdowns. Give him the ball and he will score for you.
