MyBB Non-Conference Home and Home Series (From Kirk to Pastner)
This list includes every non-conference game that was part of a home and home series for the Tigers in men's basketball going back to the 1979-80 season. It does not include those that were a two for one (two games in Memphis for one on the road) or three for one type series. Only straight one for one.

RE: Non-Conference Home and Home Series (From Kirk to Pastner)
I just realized that Cal got us to go to Mass in 1996 with no return game. That wasn't a home and home deal. Just a one time shot. He's the best.

Great work JMS.

I remember we got into a brawl at East TN State Keith Lee's first year, was there not a return game?

I also remember a brawl at Dayton. Man, that was a long time ago.

Apparently not. I am afraid he and Bowen are going to schedule nothing but non-conference cupcakes next year because we will have one season of tough conference games. I hope they toughen it up dramatically in 2014-15 because the Big East (or whatever it will be called) will be much, much weaker starting at that point.

ETSU was a 2 for 1 during the early 80's, so I didn't include it. You are right though, the Tigers played @ ETSU in December of '81.

Oof.

Best case conference wise is only 1/2 of the "good" BE teams. As of right now only Georgetown, Cinci and UL are ranked.

At some point Temple and Nova just arent "big" games.

Being a top program means you don't have to offer a return game in some cases.

I doubt any "big 6" school or high quality non-"big 6" program would come here without a return game.

We played some home and homes in the past that today would qualify as only playing in Memphis (we would not give a return game).

Didn't we play that game in Worcester instead of Amherst, thus making it a "neutral" site game?
