Oh hell yes. Much better. Likely remaining teams, even if the ACC lost 8: Duke, Wake, BC, Pitt, 'Cuse, Louisville + adds of UC, UConn, etc.
Where will the other ACC teams go, slide into the SEC? BiG?
Just rumor at this point, but the B10 could take 2 or more of UNC, Duke, Ga Tech, UVA. SEC could take NC State and Va Tech. B12 could then take 2 or 4 of FSU, Clemson, Miami, Ga Tech, Louisville or Pitt.
I think if the $EC took VPI & NCSU and the B1G took GT & VA, I'll tell you why Pitt, Syracuse, UNC, Duke, WF, FSU, Miami, BC, Clemson, & UL ALL stay...
The ACC is locked in their TV deal, but they'll still get the same money from their networks and will still have their place as one of the big five in the B
cS. They'll still get the same TV money but four teams fewer to share money with. That'll be extra $7 million annually ($17 mill x 4 teams that leave) just in TV money, and a easier path to the B
cS four team playoff than the bigger conferences.
Plus what if Maryland loses the lawsuit and is on the hook for the $50 million exit fee?
That's another $200 million in the coffers.
If the Big XII can realize the benefit of staying at ten, why couldn't the ACC?
Even if the ACC wanted to be at 12, they can justify adding Cincy and UConn.
Because if the Big XII money is based on an unequal system and there will not be a Big XII network, I'd be bold enough to say the leftover ten in the ACC will be able to make more money than going to a 12 team Big XII.
