DAYUM....that's a tough schedule!03-pissed

That's a get our coach fired schedule if it happens. Ruff and company aren't exactly on the most solid of footing and that's probably more than we have the talent to handle at this moment.

Well if it is going to happen in the long run anyway we might as well get it over with..It is clear the administration is not seeing Ruff as our coach long term otherwise he would have received an extension on his contract. He is going into year 4 out of 5 with no publicly known extension to date.

I think it's clear next year is make or break, that he'll either get an extension or be fired. I hope he's the guy to get it done, but I have serious doubts. I feel bad for him though if he has to face that schedule with non-AQ talent in a must do well year. In C-USA I think we'd be really good next year, but I don't know if we have enough to do well against that schedule.

It really doesn't matter bonds. Play a garbage slate 2013 or play a tough one in 2014. Really makes no difference as 2014 and on won't get any easier with our scheduling philosophy. The rubber meets the road sooner or latter. I'd rather have the band aid stripped off quickly if we're going to have a change. As lovable as he may be, Ruff just isn't a big time coach. There's a good reason he's spent his whole career as an assistant IMO.

I actually think with a change at DC and our recruiting improving he might can be the guy, but if he keeps Mitchell he's killing his career here. However, I don't know of any coach who could take the roster we'll have next year and do real well against that schedule.

I think could get it done if he would just accept the fact that he needs to bring someone else in to run the defense or either take it over himself....That is all I am going to say about the situation as I do not want to turn this topic into a Mitchell argument.

Well with the offense we should put in the field next year I do not think we have to be great on defense, just competitive....I think we have the front seven to be competitive, just got to get something figure out in the secondary.

I doubt he has a link, NBPirate has confirmed almost all of our other BE news exactly right so far so I believe him. I'd expect an announcement sooner than later.

lol, why should he give his source? It's a message board, believe him or don't....you're choice. He has been pretty spot on so far so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

It is not official yet but with NBPirate posting regarding this matter it means the issue has been addressed with East Carolina's Board of Trustees.

Like I said, a good coach / leader would shitcan Mitchell ASAP. But I honestly don't think he will do it.

I'm still hopeful he will, but he's sealing his fate if he doesn't. I like the offense we are running and really believe we made huge strides as the season went along on that side. I really like LR and believe we have a chance to be special with the group returning, but the defense has to become something resembling respectable. I'd hate to lose out on what we are about to become on offense just because Ruff is too loyal to a bad DC.

Yeah right...He should out his source just to satisfy you??? You understand if he comes here and spouts off who his source is then most likely he will not get any further information. Whatever...Believe it or not, that is your decision. He has a solid source so if he is saying it then there is a good chance that it will happen.
