I worked 1400-0200 last night, and was supposed to do the same tonight. Got a late Xmas gift and got cut loose early. Popping a top on my first New Year's cold one now.

RE: Happy New Year
I haven't been able to catch a buzz yet this New Year's. Last night I went to a casino and didn't want to spend a fortune on booze. Today I drank a bunch of home-made wine but it wasn't hitting the spot. Now I moved on to some Lager instead.

RE: Happy New Year
After 23 years in the fire service one would think I would have been smart enough to find employment elsewhere besides the public safety field so that I could enjoy holidays, weekends, etc. that other folks get to enjoy...but I didn't, and I took another job in public safety after getting medically retired.
I hope to change that mistake here shortly.

RE: Happy New Year
That 12 hour shift over the New Years is actually smart. You don't have to deal w/ those pesky drunks that only drink 4-5 times a year.

Nah, I worked the worst part of it. We had a chase on my radio during Clemson's winning drive so I missed it. It was actually after midnight till I knew we had won.

Yeah, I got it on DVR.
Watched some of it last night on the ESPN replay. Going to watch the entire thing tomorrow sometime.

Still sucks as it isn't the same as watching live...btw, thanks for your service.
I missed tons of games back in the 80s and 90s while on active duty (no internet, dvr, ESPN3, etc...) seving at various bases. I had a subscription to the Sunday paper to read up on the games 4-10 days after the fact.

RE: Happy New Year
DVRs are lifesavers. I agree it isn't the same as watching the game live but it's still the next best thing.
I hope everybody had a good and safe holiday.
