He definitely didn't ease up. I would've been pissed if it were my team but for some reason didn't mind him doing it to Purdue.

I've watched a lot of B12 football. That's the way all those B12 teams play--- Okie State, Kansas State, Oklahoma, etc. They like to run it up and it is evident in their scores. B12 leads the country in games with 50+ pts put on the board.

What did he do?

He is running trick plays and throwing EVERY down in the 4th quarter.
He did a play action bomb for 37 yard TD up 48-7 with 8 minutes left.

Up 55-7 throws 4 straight plays with 6 minutes left.

Complete scum

I may be in the minority, but I've always thought that a team should always play to the best of their ability, try to score on every down of every second of every game... no matter the score.

The losing team doesn't like it? Tough, man up and stop them. Don't roll over and quit, fight back and hit them hard.

If Okie State was playing their back ups and still scoring that's on Purdue to stop them.
But if Okie State was still playing their starters up 50 that's just poor sportsmanship and stupid injury wise.

I have no problem with it either. Purdue thinks they are good enough to deserve shot at championship but try to exclude schools like UC. B1g football sucks. Showing it today.

I couldn't disagree more.

You don't throw the ball EVERY down up 55-7 with 8 minutes left.
You also don't run trick plays and throw bombs.

RE: OT Purdue sucks
Okie State can run up the score if they want if they are using their backups and still want to throw the ball so be it.
There's no mercy rule in College Football. If Purdue doesn't like it they should try and play some D.
In turn though, Okie State shouldn't complain if in the future a team takes them to the woodshed mercilessly.

I didn't like it when UofL beat UC 70-7 but it was up to the Bearcats to stop the Cards and they didn't.
If in the future, UC unloads a can of whoopa$$ on the Cards I'm all for it and the Cards would have no room to complain as what goes around comes around.

Teams can do whatever they want.

No rules against it. Just classless

There's really no point throwing the ball that late in the game when you're up by 30+ points. Worst case scenario is your opponent takes exception and it leads to injuries and/or fights.

Classless?

Consider this, kids who have shed blood sweat and tears are finally getting an opportunity to play. Should they be constrained? Lots of these kids will never have an opportunity to play the game they love again. Imagine u been riding the bench forever and you finally get to play in a bowl game. They wanna give it a final go. They're classless?!? I think not.

The coach knows how hard they've worked. He's potentially just rewarding their hard work. This is but one possibility...none of which involve classless behavior.

Purdue coulda sacked up and played some D. It's on them.
