HAPPY NEW YEAR
We joined over 100 people watching Kalamazoo fireworks from East Campus at midnight. Sad that this historical WMU siite is in such disrepair.

RE: HAPPY NEW YEAR
Didn't I hear recently that East Hall was going to be renovated and restored and house all WMU administrative offices? The old Speech and Hearing center will be torn down, as will the other large building next to it. (Don't know the name, but we used to call it the Science Building. When I was in high school at State High in East Hall, all of our biology and chemistry classes were held in that building since it was full of various kinds of labs.) The old library on the end of the four buildings will remain, be restored, and be enlarged to house all of the WMU Archives. So there will be only the two buildings up on the hill, and a lot of parking space will be added.

RE: HAPPY NEW YEAR
Your behind the WMU announcements Whinny.
The latest from last month is East Hall will lose both the N & S wings off original building. Remainder will become an Alumni Center. The other three building are supposed to be torn down for parking. I have no strong feelings for West Hall or Speech & Hearing buildings, but would like atleast to see North (old Library) also saved.

The way the WMU Alumni Association gets ripped around here, I wonder what an new Alumni building would get used for???

They are also planning a new archives building somewhere behind the College of HHS building.
