Its a very old saying that takes experience to understand. I always believed that it was meant as a scare tactic.
But now experience has taught me the Grass isnt always greener on the other side of the fence.
UAB stand strong, the grass isnt always greener on the other side of the fence.

Why did your parents feed you grass as a child?

Too funny, but I have eaten alabama red clay as a child.

If the remaining conferences don't find a way to work together, scheduling matchups that make sense either as attractive TV properties or regional matchups that put butts in seats and help travel costs, then the smaller conferences will be that much weaker. I truly hope that the various commissioners, university presidents, and ADs recognize that. In a general sense, the people in those positions did not get there by being lazy, stupid, or unambitious. Yeah, I too have my doubts about Banowsky, but I can pray that this is the general sense of the have-nots at this poker table.

Greed can result in some pretty stupid decisions.

Greed and power hunger have driven a lot of the decisions made.

Interesting. There was a clay bank behind the house my Mom grew up in. People came from miles around to gather clay from that bank to take home and eat. Tradition from Africa I believe especially with pregnant women.

I don't know why San Diego State hasn't already pulled out of the Big East. Without Boise State, they should run back to the MWC. Does the MWC not want them?

Apparently some bridges were burned on their exit.

I believe the bridges can be rebuilt, but it may take a little more time.

I'm not sure as to what deadline SDSU has or the MWC has on anything, but I am not concerned at this time that SDSU will not go back to the MWC.

Apparently the MWC is pretty pissed off at SDSU. It sounds like they are going to make coming back a little bit of a ***** for them. If the MWC gets teams like Houston and UTEP, they may not even want SDSU anymore based on the teams they find to join now.

And the Big East wanted SDSU as a traveling partner for Boise, the better question may be, what is SDSU doing in a league thats over 2500 miles away.
Crazy... in SDSU

I would think the Big East would now gladly let SDSU go away. They'll pretend like they still want them so they can get the exit fee, but I bet the league will cut them a deal to let them go.

SDSU doesnt owe an exit fee to BE, they were free to leave once Boise St left. SDSU biggest concern is getting enough support in the MWC to come back.

I am no lawyer, but I would think Boise State, SDSU and the CUSA schools would have a case to forgo the exit fees since, the Big East is not what they signed up for. Couldn't a breach of contract case be made here?

I am no lawyer either, but I did stay at a Holiday inn once, so I believe I am qualfied to give ambulance chasing advise.
MB, may have a point, heck SDSU should consider suing the Big East, for fraud, as in misrepresentation of a product.

There are more than just exit fees from the Big East, there are also still exit fees from CUSA that may not have been paid as well as entry fees to whatever conference they may go to next.

Once Houstom and SMU jump to the MWC watch what the Catholic schools do.
The defectors heads will explode.

I'm no lawyer either, but it stands to reason that the whole entrance/exit fee thing is going to depend on how the contract was worded. Maybe they can get out of it, maybe not, depending. Maybe the next conference pays the exit fee, maybe not. Its all in how it got negotiated.

If there exists no BE at some point in time, wouldn't the exit fees be a moot issue?

Meaning, if UCONN & Cincy split & the remaining scrounge around for other options, then there is no BE to have to pay an exit fee.

Look for UConn and Cincy to join the Catholic 7 when they dissolve Big East football. Temple and Memphis will beg the Big East to let them stay and take their football with them to whatever holding cell (3rd pod of the MAC: UConn/Cincy/Temple/Memphis/UMass ?).

They will have enough votes to completely kill Big East football. I seriously south the Catholic schools will save it. They can simply dissolve it. Keep the Big East name, the auto bid, and live happily ever after and there is not a damn thing that can be done about it. The Memphis board will be in epic meltdown.
