Before the Big East football expansion in 90-91, all 9 of us were very tight and pulled for each other and defended each other. We didn't trash other struggling conference mates, but let them develop and eventually each of us were strong tourney teams at different times.

That's what happens when the mentality becomes "what have you done in the last 15 minutes" instead of looking at things over a healthy period of time. Its also why I prefer 10 to start, regardless of what the networks say. Build something for the next 35-50 years.

If ESPN wants us they need to pay what we are worth, makes so sense to sell ourselves short just to get involved with ESPN.

That being said turning down money from NBC to get on ESPN could make sense, because NBC hasn't proven they are dedicated to their sports strategy. Ideally though I'd like to see us on Fox and ESPN.

I tend to agree with this, but then again if NBC offers the conference 1/2 weekly games on its broadcast channel, wouldn't that change things?

Yes, OTA, ESPN and ESPN2 games are at a premium. I think FoxSports1 will be in the same category, with MLB, Big 12 and Pac 12 college sports and UFC. (I think MLB makes you big league, anyway. I ruled out Comcast/NBC-SN as a big player when they didn't lay $2B on the table for the whole MLB package.)
