Orange Bowl without car question?
Need some insight please for Orange Bowl trip as I presently plan on not renting a car and simply taking a taxi everywhere. I am staying at Hilton Miami downtown, so airport taxi should not be too pricey to hotel. Not sure how pricey from hotel to stadium will be, but I assume around $50. My biggest concern & question is how hard will it be to get a taxi after the game on Tuesday? It will be late and not sure how this will work from the stadium back to hotel. Any thoughts or ideas on what I should expect from the stadium trying to grab a cab to downtown Miami? Boca? Thanks.

I have been done there twice for Bears games. Once a Monday night and the other was the Super Bowl, and it was awful to get a taxi afterwards. For the Super Bowl we had to walk to the Walmart and wait over 45 minutes to get a ride home. Now, depending on attendence it might not be the same, but I would make sure you make a few calls to be sure.

Why don't you meet up with other Huskie fans tailgating in Lot 10 before the game? I'm sure someone will be going your way and can give you a ride.

I thought of this as a possibility, but with my Dad with me and up there in age a little bit looking for more concrete plans. Thanks. If it was me and my buddy only this would be the way to go and if it did not pan out we could make plans on the fly

Pff, tell him you have it all planned and then wing it. :)

I mean, really. Unless you rent a car you aren't going to have concrete plans. Just wait for a cab. Thats what we'll be doing.

Why not just rent a car? If you're planning on $50 to/from the airport/hotel, plus the cost to/from the game, that's $150-200.

My guess would be he plans to be drinking.

Chicago Huskie,
Look into a town car service. Sometimes they are actually cheaper than a taxi and will be waiting there for you specifically with your cell number.

You're correct on the price but there will be a wait for a taxi after the game. Check and see if your hotel will have a shuttle.

I'm sure you don't want to change plans this late, but 4 of us are staying at the El Palacio Sports Hotel which is right by the stadium. It's within walking distance and is the reason we picked it. None of us wanted to drive after the game. I can't guarantee it's a 5 star hotel, but it looks decent enough from the pictures. We don't really care.

We didn't want to tell you yet, but there are about 30 of us planning on making your hotel room the victory party.

Sounds fine to me. If we win, I don't care what happens the rest of that night.

RE: Orange Bowl without car question?
Thanks for all the feedback, I really appreciate it. I just booked a car and will be looking to tailgate in Lot 10? Is this still the main spot agreed upon? I know there is another thread on this that I will look at now.
