I post this without comment so you can draw your own conclusions
:

Special Note to Louisville Cardinal Fans

"There is little but tradition that separates WVU’s program from Louisville’s program. Both are small market teams who have managed to play with, and win against, college football’s elite. There is no doubt in my mind that Louisville has a worthwhile program and there is little doubt in my mind that WVU’s program is both more widely respected and better known. The Big 12 picked WVU over Louisville because of the tradition and long-term success of Mountaineer athletics. Cardinal fans were hurt and worried about their program and then suddenly they found themselves in the ACC.

When that happened Louisville fans suddenly seemed to puff up and believe their invitation to the ACC came on some merit-based decision — it was in part — Louisville had more merrit than UCONN and Cincinnati. Louisville was simply the least stale doughnut left in the box.

WVU lobbied hard for Louisville in the Big 12. WVU will continue to lobby for Louisville in the Big 12 and Louisville will need that support because only a fool would believe the ACC is in any way, shape or form stable. Delany will raid the ACC and FSU will leave the ACC for (hopefully) the Big 12.

While I understand your concern please don’t belittle yourself by claiming some superiority just because you made it into the worst and lowest paid football conference that only has a 1 season shelf-life.

Please understand that when I write about the ACC I write about a conference you will never play a single down as a member of and if you do it will look a lot like the conference you play in now.

Let’s all hope Louisville takes Pitt’s place as WVU’s most hated enemy."

This...they are stuck and now they know it but don't want to admit it. All of their traditional rivals-(Virginia Tech, Pitt & Syracuse) are now in the ACC & it galls them that the "Former C-USA School" is now in the league they "begged" to get into.

BTW, hate to break it to them but the B1G is not going to expand to 16 IMO without a Texas or ND in the fold...ND isn't going to a league that is basically "flyover country" & if UT-Austin does it they are really screwed..."Dude"...enjoy those trips to Ames...07-coffee3

IMO Louisville’s natural fit is ACC. Historically, Cards successful recruits mainly come from NY/NJ area for Basket Ball. Florida and south east area is main recruiting are for Football.
I can recall when we had HC, his name starts with K, who had a tie with Texas and Oklahoma. And Cards recruited some JUCO transfers from Texas. But I do not recall any success out of these guys. I think Big 12 is not our destination.

By the way, I am just wondering how lawyers will break GOR.

The only reason you have seen any Louisville fan talk about joining The Big 12 over last few months was that The Big 12 seemed like the only option UofL had. Never did realistic Louisville fans think The ACC would come calling. The week Maryland announced they were leaving I posted that there was no way The ACC would invite Louisville. I have never been happier to be wrong.

With that being said I just don't see any of this gloom and doom prediction by this WV yahoo coming true. The ACC is about a whole lot more than football.

Really if going to 4 conferences the Big 12 would be the first to go. regional setting of mainly 4 states and 2 Islands. and smallest number of schools in power conferences.

There are some thoughts on that in this thread:
