Monken is sounding like a good choice

This sounds like a coach who knows what it takes to get the job done. I like his attitude and think this kind of philosophy will turn into successful seasons.

I've suggested Monken to replace GOL numerous times. Damn good coach and I think he will do a great job at USM. You guys have the talent to match his spread offense, and he has been a good recruiter. Hopefully USM gets it's shot at the BE. I personally like the USM/UCF games. Always hard fought. Good luck to you guys. Nothing but respect for USM.

I love just one part of this quote:

"My biggest fear is failure and if I let the fans and team down by not giving my best performance as a coach. And the team its best chance to win. My fear of failure is a form of motivation. I don't like failure.'"

Fans understand if you don't win a game due to whatever reason... as long as you give your best performance to do so

Thanks, Knightsweat, but no thanks to the Big East now that it has fallen apart. Travel expenses would be out of sight for Olympic sports and fans wouldn't be able to travel to support the team. I wish you well...

Reports of the Big East's demise have been greatly exaggerated. Not what it once was, but still a good spot for USM if the powers that be would wise up.

Thanks for the mention but the exit and entrance fees could go a long way at USM. I think for the first time in a long time our AD (not his fault previously) has seen that basketball can be a budget contributor instead of a budget buster at USM. Put that money towards Reed Green and build up for a few years. Evenually we will be able to catch up with some of the teams we are traditional rivals with.
