RE: Firefighters Shot & Killed
An interview with GR political reporter on tonight's news. State legislator says attention will turn from right to work onto a new topic, too much crime in Michigan. He says he is not racist, but the violence is concentrated in five or six certain cities and the anti-crime efforts should be concentrated there.

They are hoping to attract some new manufacturing for advanced citizen armament. We can use money saved from reducing teacher pay and state employee health care to begin to supply citizen weapons to form neighborhood infantry units. By posting squads of armed citizens on certain street corners we can prevent much of the crime before it happens.

The new gun factories will benefit from the right to work environment, that is a growing economic segment and we should exploit that.

Also some talk of legislation to allow 50 round clips, as the bad guys normally only have 30 round clips and this way the neighborhood watch guys will have a better chance in a fire fight.

If we can eventually find a way to end public education and subsidize home defense schooling, we can arm the mothers and make the bad guys think twice about home invasion where the students are. Students 9 and up will be able to get smaller handguns, 32 calibre and under only, and only for use in the home school setting or inside school buildings. Cannot carry at sporting events other than tennis or golf.

Prison workers are exempt from the cutbacks and we need to send more bad guys to prison, and throw away the key. Eliminate good behavior. Only cut them loose if they get cancer or a costly disease.

Lots of good ideas from that legislator.

Yeah, what we need is a bunch of George Zimmermans running around "protecting" neighborhoods.

Public education as we knew it will be extinct within ten years.

I think Ernie was being sarcastic.

Perhaps but don't underestimate the radicalism of state legislature.

I get DE was being sarcastic, but that's not far off from their thinking.

RE: Firefighters Shot & Killed
Well it was satire of course, but the truth is every one of those things is either underway or being seriously proposed.

There is now a six month backlog on ar15 style weapons, increased factory space is under construction. News report yesterday was one freak has placed an order for 32,000 rounds of the .223 ammo plunking down $16,000 up front.

Arming school personnel is proposed. Concealed carry in schools made it to the governors desk last week. 9 year olds can hunt with rifles and shotguns. A guy from one street over came to my house last week proposing "us homeowners need to stick together because a lot of us have guns and if there is trouble in the city "they" will be coming out here to clean us out". And many see law enforcement as the enemy, not the protector. Example the fireman ambush.

Something is seriously wrong in our country, and at some point I hope all these guns don't start getting used, it will be a bloody mess if that happens. Already is a mess, with incidents almost every week now. And the damage is coming from those WITH guns, not those without. So to now propose the solution is more guns, not less?
