Future NFL Guys
I know we've talked a bit about this a few times, but with all the bowl games and how they highlight possible guys getting drafted I was bored. Thought we could at least talk about guys we see getting to the league.

2013 draft players
Progar-drafted probably a 5-6th rounder
Martel Moore-I'd love to see him be a 3-4th round guy but I think he falls to a late round or UDFA
Perez Ashford-UDFA, will be a good pro given the opportunity
Alan Baxter-UDFA hopefully, the kid has a motor, extremely intelligent, he's a great dude, a bit undersized I wish him all the best
Ty Clark-UDFA, another guy with a high motor, he breaks up A LOT of passes, good potential
Rashaan Melvin-UDFAhe has great size, loads of potential, if he had a few more INTs he could be a late rounder, I'm interested to see his pro-day and see where he goes, lots of upside if he can be coached up
Schepler-dude is overlooked, don't know if he's a pro but I've had multiple OL tell me he is the best blocker and he plays TE, in the HW article it said he has 50plus pancakes, that's nuts

2014 Draft players
Jimmie Ward- if he isn't drafted, I'd be shocked, absolute ball hawk, one mean SOB on the field, 3-4th round talent in my book, he would immediately get special teams guy, I think under the current Bears regime he'd be a great fit, but Lovie would be gone
Lynch- I know he's unconventional, but his talent is immense, dude is a player, I know ppl hate Kill, but I read an article and he said he thinks JL could start at safety in the NFL
Ken Bishop- intrigues me, I need another year to see where he stands

Players down the road, I'm sure at least one OL will get a shot, Idk which one right now, Juwan Brescacsin has the size and is young, Jamaal Bass has skills, that's all I got for now. Love to hear what you guys think.

I'm biased towards the kids that I've been watching for years.

Giorgio Bowers, Aiden Conlon, and Stephen O'Neal are some of the most athletic players I have seen. With good health, I can see either or all three of them making it to the league.

I love Giorgio Bowers on special teams, I'd like to seem him and Akeem be a 1-2 punch next year, Conlon has been solid but IMO opinion he;s probably the 4th best OL starter right now would be 5th if Loos was back, which isn't a knock on him b/c we have good talent up front. And O'Neal is a freak athletically but he is always injured.

Do you know if/when they have combine invites and if he will go or has already accepted. That or his pro day could blow his stock way up, helped NaPalm for sure. And as a pure receiver I like NaPalm and his skill set but Martel dwarfs him in the pure receiver skills. Read an article comparing his play to Brandon Lloyd. What round do you see Martel going.

You appear optimistic on their draft value, according to other sources:

Progar/Melvin projected not to be drafted.

Martel Moore 98th best WR

Progar 26th best DE

That being said, pro day can change everything and all it takes is one team to fall in love with a guy.

RE: Future NFL Guys
2014 could be interesting, as Jordan Lynch is already the 10th ranked QB. I imagine someone will take a chance on him at some point in the draft. He has an NFL body and has produced big time.

2014 NIU draft prospects

Sims and Jimmie Ward will be getting looks too. And remember, even if your guy goes undrafted, TONS of great players go undrafted. Arian Foster, Kurt Warner, Antonio Gates...the list goes on forever.

RE: Future NFL Guys
I'm really only optimistic on Martel and Melvin. Progar has his detractors but I think he will prove his worth against FSU. As for Moore I know he's undersized and there are a lot of good WRs out there, but I think his productivity and skill set will come through and help him out. As for Melvin, I'm just really high on his measurables and talent. He has a high ceiling.

If Martel Moore has a great game, NIU's chances of winning the Orange Bowl will increase.
We need a strong passing game to give our running game a good chance, if the Florida State D. puts up
a top 10 performance.

If NIU wins, or these players have an incredible game, their stock should increase dramatically for the NFL draft.
THat is a huge motivation tool, if NIU needs one.

Ward can hit, he's got that going for him. I dont see any NIU players getting drafted. Maybe Moore goes the way of N-Palm.
