RE: TV Market Rankings
There was a time in the 70's when Cincy was probably considered more of a rivalry to UD then Xavier, because X was considered such an automatic win. Obviously Xavier has gotten the better of them in recent years, but ESPN obviously considers the game a big rivalry and good television because they telecast it nearly every year. If they both get invited its almost a given that it will immediately become one of the "must see" games in the new conference. I'm betting UD ends that losing streak in Cincinnati this year. Think they definitely have the better team.

There is a very good chance that happens this year and like I said before, it is a rivalry.
There is definately a lot more that you have to look at other than NCAA bids and NCAA wins. Although, I still believe a tv deal is a major driver in the selection of the league and the inventory that you have in the conference largely depends on eye balls. Perception can be an influence on who is in that inventory and NCAA tournament teams could be a major driver.

That's STILL a conference that can get three bids a year. Their remaining members would have more at-large bids earned over the last 15 years than C-USA, MWC, WCC or MVC. They'd be the #7 or #8 conferenceā¦ like they are now.
I'd say, let them build. We'll still be on a clearly higher tier with Xavier, Butler and VCU plus the C-7, so if the A-10 is getting 3 bids, and we're above the A-10, we must be elite, right?

Cincy was rated their #7 basketball-watching market (2.1) and Dayton was 8th (2.0). That's higher than Indy (1.8), St. Louis (1.2) and Richmond (1.1). Omaha wasn't listed in the top 27.
With the development of I-75 as a catalyst, Middletown is growing. More people from the Dayton DMA are living in Middletown now, which means more commuters from Middletown to Dayton, which triggers a Cincy-Dayton-Middletown merged DMA.
That's expected in 2013, because that's when the USCB will be done disseminating all the last census data.
If you say so. Why did they split Springfield off of Dayton then?
