...to one of the families that lost a loved one in the shootings in Connecticut. His image in the press hasn't always been that great but he did a good thing here.

He's from ECU? Wow, I'm not really surprised at all.

Good move on his part. The fact he broke the run off with all those names on his shoes just made you stop and think for a minute. I didn't particularly care for all the media exploitation of this thing, but what he did makes you see athletes in a better light.

Not sure why Chris would have an image problem. He has never had any issues off the field and is pretty shy.

He is arrogant about his speed, but when you can run that fast you would have an ego too.

I liked the guy ever since he made a commercial for espn earlier in the year where he was going about his day and everyone was pissed at him for ruining their fantasy football team. Shows a lot of emotional maturity

I live in a Nashville suburb and can attest to the fact that CJ gets ripped a lot on talk radio all the time. Most of the comments are that since he signed his huge contract at the beginning of last season he dogs it and fails to put fourth the effort.

Sucky QB + Sucky/Injured Oline + 8/9 in the box = long day for any running back.

Because he didn't have another 2k season after the first one. Fun fact: He is the 8th player ever to have a 1k yards their first five seasons in the league.

The list of the most consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons to begin a career, NFL history:
10 – Barry Sanders (1989-98)
10 – Curtis Martin (1995-04)
8 – LaDainian Tomlinson (2001-08)
7 – Eric Dickerson (1983-89)
6 – Corey Dillon (1997-02)
5 – Chris Johnson (2008-12 – active)
5 – Eddie George (1996-00)
5 – Tony Dorsett (1977-81)

Also, his 94 yard TD was was his sixth touchdown run of at least 80 yards in his career. No other player in NFL history has more than three. Johnson has three this season. He also had three in 2009.

I didn't mean that he has a particularly bad image or anything, I just get the feeling that a lot of people dismiss him as a dumb jock or whatever. I think he has a big heart but feels slighted sometimes and does too much talking, even though he does a pretty decent job of backing it up on the field. I don't think he is a bad guy at all, just that some people take things more personally and feel more of a need to respond to public criticism.
