A lot of me thinks VT took this course of action because of all the heat they have been getting from alums, ESPN, ACC and others NOT some moral integrity issues.

BIG DEAL
He had probably already told the coach he was entering the draft and wouldn't be back anyway so that allowed the school to look like it is really being serious and coming down hard. An easy way to save face. I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't some kind of financial deal included for Vick as well.
ACC and VTech SUCK.

I guess I am very cynical over this issue.

I like hard hitting, smash mouth fotball (hell I am a Steeler fan) but what Vick did had criminal intent. Should have been thrown off the team right there and then.

Check out this thread on the Louisville Rivals site. Tech fans are claiming we got what we wanted and the whole episode was Dumervil's fault. 04-jawdrop

I will wait till all the facts(timeline) come out, but this will raise credibility issues with Beamer and staff. They HAD to have known about the arrest and still allowed him to play. The leg stomp was known by the QB coach and he was still allowed to play. Looks like Beamer is a win at all cost kind of guy now. Kudo's to the VT Admin.

Sounds like VT held the news of Vick's arrest under the rug long enough to get him in the Gator Bowl....and then the just let him go

- L-Yes....that's just a typical Hokie fan....unfortunatly there are a lot more like that guy

Shameful
It is totally shameful that Virginia Tech allowed Marcus Vick to play even though they must have known about his most recent arrest. Plenty of schools have suspended players who get arrested in the weeks leading up to bowl games. And it's not like "New Mexico" was a first time offender. How many strikes does this guy have now? Can anyone even keep track anymore? I think we can all clearly see that Virginia Tech has become a win at all costs football program. They probably have some stud quarterback recruit lined up to take over anyway so they figure they won't even miss a beat next season.

Ill just wait until next season and see if he returns. Remember the whole sex deal where he was dissmised and then allowed to return. So lets see come Sept ogf this year wether Mr.Vick is wearing Hokie colors or not.

I have a feeling it has to do more with Ron Mexico's bank account and legacy, in that order, at VT than New Mexico's talent.

At least we won't have to deal with Vick up in Blacksburg. Then again, Cincinnati is a physical team, lord knows what Coach Dantonio would have did if Vick had tried that crap with us. Louisville tried to kill the guy themselves.

quote Marcus Vick according to a Hampton area newspaper:

""It's not a big deal," Vick was quoted as telling the newspaper. "I'll just move on to the next level, baby." "

It is clear that Coach Beamer is not an honorable man, than God the VA Tech President is. I think Beamer had better clean his team's act up or he could be the next Huggins, because he has also embrassed the whole ACC!

I think teams will not want to draft him let alone him making a team. The first Vick has taken a lot of heat for his ability to lead a team and this one isn't half as good. I don't think he can play quarterback in the NFL and he would have to make it at wide receiver or defensive back. I think NFL defenders would try to mangle him because of what he did to a defensive player. I don't think it looks good for Mr Vick.

He will make the Raider's practice squad.

Seriously, he will be on an NFL team. He will try to be a QB, get switched to another position, and ultimately get into trouble somewhere.

Depending on the NFL team, he may have a career.
