The RL Carrier Bowl does not pay a lot of money, but NO is a great place for a bowl game, It's a great location for the Sun Belt champ and a good CUSA bowl, I hope the series continues.
Partially correct. The bowls payout is directly linked to how many tickets you can sell through your teams ticket office. if you don't sell your allotment you eat half of the cost and begin to lose money. If you sell your entire allotment your school make more money than some other bowls because of lower marketing fees.
So while the published pay out is lower than other bowls, the opportunity to make money is there. The Cajuns will take home over a million after the conference gets their share.

They did some last year.
Its really about the game for them. Bowls they come out of the wood works. They do travel well...
There was perhaps 2k at Troy this past year and we are 8hours or so from them.
A couple of their home games were played in bad weather. First game of the season was played in a hurricane
They travel extremely well. They brought a huge crowd to the Rock a few years ago.
How would USM like to play the Cajuns in an annual game at the Super Dome every year? Both schools have a ton of alumni in NOLA. Just a thought...
Great idea. Of course there would have to be some money in it.
I have great respect for your program and fans. Next to the Cornhusker faithful, probably the best I've met.

Great idea, if the money was right.
Each school gets same amount of tickets, say 30k to start. Sell those, you keep $. Each school pays 50% of costs to rent Dome for the game, officials, etc. Bottom line would be a profit for both schools.
I wouldn't make this a yearly game in New Orleans. I'd make it home-and-home with the 3rd year in the Dome. Then start the cycle over again.
Quick, someone draw up the contracts and get their to each school's AD.

Most would be surprised how much our new AD listens to fan suggestions, complaints and ideals.

Pretty safe assumption that the New Orleans Bowl will prefer inviting Louisiana, ULM, Louisiana Tech, and Southern Miss going forward. A growing South Alabama fanbase could be an option for them too.
