Funny, MSU has had far more success than UM in hoops, and is much more recognized on a national level. Yet UM won't play 2 for 1's. They played at Bradley this year because Belien has a relative on their staff. Even then the scUM faithful were saying "We should never be playing a school like Bradley at their place."

Izzo on the other hand has played many games at lesser programs including Oakland and EMpew.

I believe he also played GVSU at Van Andel... If I remember correctly it was a struggle of a game...

It reminds me a lot of the Chimps redo. It was nice that Mr. Stohs ponied up the cash for it, but in my opinion it's quite underwhelming. Much more impressed with UT's make over.

NIU has the best facility in the MAC in my opinion, but from a spectators standpoint the sightlines are not all that good. If EMU put some fans in the seat it would be considered a top venue. What a waste of a facility. BSU's is impressive too, and Ohio's has been good for a long time. Kents is awful and Akron is not far behind. Considering that they own the conference it shows just how little facilities play in the equation of wins and losses.

Speaking of MSU, and we were, sorry, did anyone see the game played in Jenison the other night? I was flipping around, hit that and did a double take.

The seats didn't look to have bad sight lines, I remember Read being identical to that. Read would have been nice if they had just modernized it like Butler did theirs instead of flipping it for the beam and scoreboard, all IMHO of course.

Didnt Hinkle do basically same thing as we did, except that Hinkle was simply much bigger?

I know Northwestern did what we did and it worked pretty well, but again it was much bigger to begin with.

MSU's baseline seats were not nearly as bad as ours. If you were sitting in the upper deck on the baseline you were 150 feet from the court.

I remember the baseline being set back but not that much, even so that could have been fixed. Along the side it was great and when the upper was full the atmosphere was great.

Butler didn't flip direction if I remember right.

I went to the alumni game the night before and then had tickets to go to the game the next night but I ended up having to work. Being there for the alumni game was something special. Everyone around me kept telling stories about where they sat when such and such happened. Cool stuff.

Anybody watching MSU and BG? Spartans up only 4 early in the second half. That's after MSU hit around 50% in the first half and BG only about 33%.

BG had it tied at 45 just past the halfway point. Since then, MSU is pulling away. Have the lead up to 11. 5 to go. BG in a 5 minute drought.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting weary of MSU's success in basketball. I like Izzo. Like the school. But that program is starting to feel to me like the NY Yankees of old. UK, Duke, and MSU. Same old, same old domination. Yawn.
