NIU Weekly
Jeff C mentioned on NIU Weekly that they have now distributed 11,000 tickets between students, purchases, and donations. Somebody must have stepped up big on the donation side. I bought 15, but somebody must have bought a number with a few extra zeros on it. If we can get above 13k on the distributed number and have over 10k at the game that would be a great showing.

Wasn't it just at like 6k earlier this week?

NIU Weekly
This seems odd... Has someone put together a pool for all the extra tix that are being purchased? How does a student or a fan get access? I love the idea only because it makes out numbers look better, but what matters more- the numbers we post on paper or how the stadium looks on game day?

Yea, that is strange, I don't see how it could jump that much.

I assume the 6600 number were those that went through NIU. If you count others buying through Stubhub, etc. then maybe we would be close to 10K even without these latest news.

Only explaination would be a large buy on the donated side. Don't really care, beecasue 11k is a number that starts to look respectable.

The 5,500 number was from two days after the announcement. The deadline for the first distribution of tickets was Friday. I'd imagine many waited until Thursday or Friday to purchase.

I hope that all of the students that obtain free tickets actually go to the game. It should be a great experience for them.

What else would they do with the ticket? They have to pick it up at the stadium. Or do you just mean some student's might request a ticket and then not make it to Miami?

There won't be 4000 NIU people with tickets via the secondary market. That's 2/3 the total pool of tickets on Stubhub at any given time this week.

If that 11k number is right...it has to be considered a success, I don't care how we got to the #. I would assume we could make it to 13k by the game, and I think that's a big success.

I was not aware of the fact that they have to pick it up at the stadium. If we have distributed 11,000 tickets and most of the students make it to Miami, NIU should be proud of their fan base and proud of their marketing efforts for this game.
