omg,,,,,,,,,,seriously?
its great to be a buccaneer,,,,,,,,,,,,,,tenis player.

when this campus builds tennis courts everky couple of years or so, its big news at mtsu when theyve finely hit 60 percent of there funding goal for a new tennis facility. i ran across this while looking for postgame article against belmont

http://www.goblueraiders.com/content.cfm/id/64555

ife said it b4. its all about priorities. which is why our sister school is fbs football with tennis fund raisin campains and we build tennis courts after tennis courts and loosely talk about maybe one day talking about the possibility of fundraining for football. it just pisses me off

RE: omg,,,,,,,,,,seriously?
Come on. Did you look at that facility that they are building? We are not building anything close to that expensive for tennis, thus not taking as much money. And I dont believe (though not sure) that we had to raise that money privately, since it was part of the parking garage deal.

Now, I do agree that we spent too much on the tennis facility because we built 2, I believe one for the public and one for the team, is that right? Im not sure why this was needed.

RE: omg,,,,,,,,,,seriously? or PRIORITIES
i think ad tennis coach has talked about a new indoor facility too. look, mtsu is not building arthur ashe stadium so its nothing to get in a wad over. the point im making is mtsu has its athletics prioritized correctly. they have major sports on the front burner and rejoice when they hit 60 percent funding for a lousy 3 million dollar minor sport project

conversely, is that the etsu ad tennis coach defecates brand new tennis courts around here anytime he wants ever since he killed my team

etsu, mtsu. 2 sister state schools coming out of the ovc. one celebrates small accomplishments for its minor sports, has 25,000 students, has fbs football, and is heading to conference usa. the other places a majority of its emphasis on minor sports, has 15,000 students, no football, and is heading nowhere.

Extraordinary Terrible Situation Underwhich athletics have miserably failed

cant justify more and more etsu tennis court constructions. any way they shell-game, whether into a part of a bigger deal like a parking garage, or performing arts center, or even a multi-million dollar flower bed. im stickin with being pissed over the ridiculous difference by which the two tbr sister schools have handled football and tennis. actions yield consequence and both schools have certainly proven that in there own right

RE: omg,,,,,,,,,,seriously?
that's 34 new courts built or face-lifted in 20? years. 12 new courts above the soccer fields, 9 courts with a new asphalt base, 90K to resurface the 6 courts in the dome, they just resurfaced the 9 at WarfPickle along with new fence posts and all new wind screens last year just before they tore them down, and now who knows how much to redo 2 courts in the dome which are a color that makes you want to puke each time you see them.
and this AD and coach are still at ETSU? how much other money have they wasted?

If they're spending more than Georgia Southern annually, plenty wasted.

and of all this, how many times did etsu make a big press anouncement when 60 percent of the funding was obtained for any tennis building project like mtsu did. answer is exactly none. the money was always there for buc tennis building projects, while mtsu is putting all its eggs into basketball and fbs football and struggling like hell to fund a lousy tennis project,,,,,,,,and just see what that got them verses what our actions got us. sad and pathetic

You do realize that MTSU has a budget that is double ETSUs and they spend a whole heck of a lot more money on all sports like tennis, volleyball, softball, etc than ETSU. They didn't just throw the budget at football and let the other sports flounder.

That's such a ridiculous statement. Because Ga Southern is having recent success in football, they're the athletic dept gold standard? That makes no sense. I would not look at Ga Southern as a model dept at all. Sure if you want to find out how to win at football at the FCS level, they're a good example. Overall though, that's not the kind of athletic dept I would want to be. I mean, would you reall be satisfied with a basketball that awful, year after year?

Not addressing the rest of your post but.. recent success? Geogia Southern restrarted football as a club team in 82 and 83 started playing Div 1AA football in 84 and won their first national championship in 85. Since them they have won 5 more national championships and been in the championship game a couple of more times and pretty much make the playoffs every single year. That is 30 years of football success.. I wouldn't call that "recent" I would call that a substained tradition of excellence.

I don't disagree with you. I'm just of the opinion that Ga Southern is constantly brought up because they've been so deep in the playoffs the last few years. If they were simply making the playoffs, but not going real deep I don't think they would get cited so frequently on this board. Kind of how they've jumped App as the model for posters on here.

They get cited on this board because they're doing everything that ETSU could potentially do on LESS MONEY annually. Competitive baseball, damn good football and guess what? They're moving up to a better conference.
Most aren't familiar with Old Dominion, but my hope is that's the model ETSU tries to mimmick. They have everything we want.
By the way, when Texas won the volleyball championship the other night do you know who was interviewed? #RaptorNation

I just looked it up. ETSU wasted all of that money for 4 home matches!! crazy (the women have 3 matches). make them play at Liberty Bell like soccer, track, baseball, or softball had to do for so many years. Oh that's right, the AD's #1 concern is to make sure his boy is happy when it should be to make sure the students, faculty and community are happy.

RE: omg,,,,,,,,,,seriously?
Real simple. Georgia Southern knows how to spend its highly subsidized athletic funds for the best return on its investment, and spends less per year doing it than ETSU. A bad example, how so? Try ETSU if you want to see a bad example. It must be one of the worst in NCAA mid-major. Even without football expenses, ETSU has not elevated its basketball program. The Stanton-Mullins athletic model is an abject failure and the Athletic Task Force concurs by emphasizing the return on ETSU's athletic investment or lack thereof.
