Don't they lose Roosevelt Nix also? He is a pretty damn good player.

If lynch does not get hurt, we will go 13-0 and another BCS game. Its time to add 10-16k more seats and play a couple BCS teams at home. This is our moment, it is no time to be afraid to be great!

Act like who you want to be, not who you are. This is how dreams happen. I know we don't fill our stadium now but that's ok. We must be able to play the iowas, purdues and minnesotas and teams like that in dekalb. We must get everything we can out of our current situation.

Also, our last game of the 2013 season will be a home game. That game will have to be a weeknight or weekday game due to the high school playoffs being played at Huskie Stadium that weekend. I'd think Ball State is the likely opponent for that one.

Good to know. What makes you think Balls is the last game? I mean, if they are our "rival" since we have a trophy game with them, we should play them the last week every year, but the MAC isn't that smart.

So the schedule could look something like this:

Aug. 31 - at Iowa
Sep. 7 - vs. EMU
Sep. 14 - at Idaho
Sep. 21 - vs. EIU
Sep. 28 - at Purdue
Oct. 5 - BYE?
Oct. 12 - vs. Akron (Homecoming)
Oct. 19 - at UMass
Oct. 26 - vs. WMU
Nov. 2 - vs. Akron
All midweek games
Nov. 12-13 at Kent State
Nov. 19-20 at Toledo
Nov. 26 vs. Ball State

My God, really? Hey guess what, we did fill the stadium every week about 8 years ago. Things have changed.

I guess we're just going to keep scheduling at Akron until I actually jump in the van with HuskieBob and actually go see their new dump.

Akron's new stadium and field is actually really nice. The press box/coaches booth/etc. is big time. However, they are missing a home team playing on that field and an atmosphere. The team has always sucked. Well at least the past twenty or so years of watching college football. And do not come back with 2005. Yes, they won the MAC (terrible year for the MAC) and they beat us twice. But that is not saying much for that year.

I bet T. Bowden turns that program around. I could seem them with a winning record in 2-3 years. 6-6 or better would be huge for them. Not that long ago we prayed for a winning record.

If we have a weekday game the week of thanksgiving I'm pulling for the 2pm kickoff Wednesday the 27th. Just like 2005 vs w. mich

Brad is very inelegant, but I believe his point is that we have filled HS in the past with MAC opponents. Maybe we can afford to bring in some AQ opponents now, but really not too many.

+1

Great idea. The 2005 NIU-WMU game kicked off at 12:35 PM, not 2:00 PM though.

Question is, would ESPN allow it, especially if the game's against Ball State?

2013 MAC-East games
Next year is the year the huskies take main stage. On year on the national seen is an accomplishment. 2 years in a row shows you are a program built to compete. If we want to talk about big east, big ten type moves these are the years where we. Build the foundation to get there....

B10 will never be an option, they got the illinois market covered. As for the Big East, well thats like throwin **** at the wall and hoping it sticks even though it stinks. Id guess the Big East Catholic schools will bail snd their will be a much different look in 6 months.

RE: 2013 MAC-East games
I doubt, we could bring in that many either but it would be nice to have 3-4 bcs teams over a 6 yr period. Compher, kill and dd talked about being the boise of the Midwest. Boise dominated their conference and won games against bcs teams. They also have slowy increased their stadiums capacity. The capacity of their stadium is 37k know. NIU should be second to no one, in the mac, when it comes to stadiums and facilities. The best time to expand and make improvements is while you are winning. We cannot expect the ftball team to keep winning at this pace for ever.

B10 will never be an option unless NIU joins this:
AAU

Easy killer...

We won 3 games this year by 1 play. (Army, Kansas & Kent St) and I still don't know how be beat Ball St and I was there in person.

We had 10k open seats for 4 of our 6 home games this year.

AD Compher has proven that a weak @$$ schedule can get us to a BCS game...even with 1 loss...he is not going to change his scheduling philosophy. On top of that we are booked years ahead of time.

Even better...(not) I expect that we will have a minimum of 2 weeknight games in November next year.

B12 is our ONLY big time possibility...but only if TX, TT, oSu & OU all leave the conference and FSU/Clemson does not want in. So I would say the chances are low.
