Does anybody know anything more about this?

I know Sparkman has had issues with gangs and controlling the student population in the past, but this seems crazy.

Many schools and their communities have "gangs" who see value in protecting their "turf". Usually it results in nothing more than "bullying" those who are outsiders to the group. It may well be a major cause of bullying in most schools. (Remember the rural girl who was bullied at her school and jumped to her death from an Interstate overpass?) When it rises to the point of overtly endangering the lives of those who must be there, some methodology must be developed to control it.

BTW, Did anyone vote in the survey (on the right side) on "pot"?

When I was in high school, in the early 2000's, Sparkman had a lot of problems. Bob Jones suspended anybody involved in a fight, and the police were called. No questions asked. There were very few fights there when I attended. Sparkman had gangs(or at least that's what they thought they were) that would literally walk down the halls and beat the crap out of people. It was the same people getting in trouble all the time, but they never did enough to punish them because they kept at it.

I looked into this some more, and apparently some kid said it was going to be like Columbine today. There are extra police officers all over the school. If I had a kid, he/she would have been staying home too.
