Nebraska would be a perfect fit, especially on Labor Day weekend. Would sell out easily, IMO. Plus everyone is wearing red which doesn't make it look as bad for us lol.

I can account for 2 that will be in Miami that weren't at SF. SF is played out.

I can assure you NIU's finance department doesn't think SF is played out.

I can account for 2 more at Miami who aren't doing SF games.

RE: We've Sold More Tickets Than FSU
FYI, I called the Ticket Office this morning and the girl on the phone said they sold out the $225 seats. Not sure if that is right but that is what she said.

No matter what, we are going to have a good crowd down in Miami! Should be great!!! 02-13-banana

That can't be quite right, because they haven't even allowed for the HASF loyalty points yet, so there are a bunch of people who don't actually have tickets in hand yet.

That is what I thought too. She may have just meant that they have requests for the $225 seats inexcess of the seats available. Still unbelievable.

By my estimates that's almost 3000 seats!

RE: We've Sold More Tickets Than FSU
From the NIU release today:

DeKALB, Ill. - Just 10 days after earning the first Bowl Championship Series (BCS) bowl bid in Mid-American Conference history, Northern Illinois fans have claimed approximately 5,500 tickets to the Discover Orange Bowl through the NIU Athletic Ticket Office, Director of Ticket Operations Eric Schultz said Wednesday. Schultz said Northern Illinois has exhausted its supply of tickets at the $225 level, although plenty of tickets priced between $75 and $165 remain in the Huskie sections of the stadium.

That pretty much disproves the thought that NIU alumni don't go to games due to the cost.

I wonder how many of the 5,500 are ones being given to students for free?

RE: We've Sold More Tickets Than FSU
Wow. I thought i was the only sucker willing to shell out 225 per/ticket.

With the amount of loyalty points i have, I'll be right next to the guy who paid 165.

I would be shocked if any of the students are getting those. Shocked.

Did I miss something? They didn't say all 5500 were $225 tickets. I'm sure some of those are the cheaper variety that could have been given to the students.

I'm sure the students will either be in the end zone or upper deck.

RE: We've Sold More Tickets Than FSU
Based off of the info here on seats/row and rows per section: http://www.empiretickets.com/sports/nfl/...MklBoOum1k

The 225 sections are 110 - 114 (only half 114 was allocated to NIU) 4.5 sections

On the 100 Level, all sections have 32 rows, with the exception of sections 103, 131, 153, and 156, which have 29 rows.
Each row has 28 seats

4.5*32*28 = 4032 Seats @ 225 = 907,200
