RE: New USM coached named?
mmm....After BA, I'd go Matt Campbell then Kingsbury. I really don't mind one and done's because I think that is where Tech's program is at right now. If he stays too long then we're probably not having winning seasons and let's be honest......LaTech is a destination job for setting up the seven-figure destination job.

Best available candidate besides Petrino in my opinion and he happens to be from my old residence of Wheaton, Illinois so I'm sold.

Give us 8-10 years and a lot of luck and we'll be right back where we were in 1997... including the self-congratulatory administration.

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State already served as a launching pad for one recent offensive coordinator's successful head coaching leap to Southern Miss.

Now it's Todd Monken's turn to jump.

Confirming reports from the Hattiesburg American, a source close to Monken has confirmed that the Cowboys offensive coordinator will be announced Tuesday as the next head coach at Southern Miss, ending his two-year run at OSU.

The source said that Monken will not coach the Cowboys in the Heart of Dallas Bowl on Jan. 1, but instead will immediately start working on building a staff and engaging in recruiting for the Golden Eagles, who finished 0-12 this season, resulting in the firing of coach Ellis Johnson.

Nice, I lived in Lombard too. I miss that area, hopefully one day I can return there.

I love this. Perfect hire for our situation. Personally, I liked both Anderson and Monken, but Monken has the better resume and has learned under a damn good coach the last few years. What he did with freshmen at QB this year was incredible.

I was on the Monken-Mania train last year, til the administration pulled the blunder of all TTT blunders and brought in the old guy that I HATED the idea of..

So i got what I wanted, just a year later than anticipated.
