RE: DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!
Bad call, but huge fumble by TH on a drive that would have wrapped up the game.

RE: DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!
Is it Bill Dee's fault that the team doesn't have the athletes to consistently stuff the run or the team is not built around a defensive philosophy? The offense isn't exactly a power rushing team.

Offensively you can survive without elite athletes and get by on scheme and gimmicks and a hot quarterback like the Redskins. Defense is a whole different animal. Without balance and talent you are screwed against good teams.

That was a tough one, for someone who who somewhat regrets not going to ODU (Born Virginian and more or less caved to peer pressure on UTK originally) I've been a closet fan all year. Congratulations on one heck of a short term run in FCS, and while today sucks what the Monarchs have done will be studies by universities interesting in growing athletics for YEARS to come.
Hold your heads up, in my lifetime I believe Old Dominion University will be the top football program in the Commonwealth.
Your stadium is badass by the way.

RE: DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!
I thought 600 yards rushing was bad but the 71 attempts is mind blowing. I seriously doubt a team has ever lost when rushing at least 71 times.

bill Dee is responsible for putting the defensive players in a position to be successful, he hasn't been able to do it all year long against anyone no matter what scheme they run.

Bobby wilder absolutely made the right call going for it on 4th and 6 from our own 39 because he knew there was zero chance our d would get another stop, which they didn't.

That's embarrassing and it falls completely on the coordinator. That is his only job in life right now and he's flat out terrible at it.

I still don't understand why we don't put extra safties in as cornerbacks and force then to pass over and over. Get better, stronger tacklers out there and force them to throw deep over the safties head. Our corners got ate up all day long and were essentially worthless out there.

More bad coordinating. At least TRY something different.

We only got a few stops the entire game and it was mainly because they made mistakes. 2 missed fg's and a hold that made it 2nd and 20. We only had 1 stop on our own accord.

Inexcusable

I don't disagree with that RR, but I wouldn't expect marked improvement months from now against ECU, UNC and Maryland because of a coordinator change.

Thoug he made the right call. Only 3:30 left. Knew defense couldn't stop them--wanted to give TH as much time possible.

The fumble was the turning point. Thought we played well, was a fun season, no regents. Now I have to find some CBB to watch...

I disagree, a good coordinator can make a huge difference. It's how a terrible San Fran team can go to the NFC championship in 1 year switching between harbaugh and singletary.

Coordinators win and lose games with strategy.

All NFL teams have NFL players, there is a huge disparity in talent between college football programs, especially one that is just beginning to cycle out its first class.

there is just as much of a disparity in talent in the NFL when you compare the dolphins offense to new England's offense......

We don't lack talent.....we lack a coordinator with any clue how to run a respectable defense.

We got gutted my every single offense we faced all year long.

If we are going to step up to big boy football, we need a proven fbs or fcs coordinator, not a high school football coach masquerading as a college defensive coordinator.

Letting a team rush for 600 yards on you, regardless of the talent on the field, is automatic grounds for a firing. At some point you have to completely sell out and force them to pass.....we never did.....and we lost because of it.

If we wanna play big boy football, we need a big boy coordinator.

I agree our last coordinator was fired for not being able to stop the TO, our current coordinator, while better, still cant stop it, or the run, or any thing up the middle.

Bill Dee has been envolved in our recruiting for years now its not like he came from no where. Instead of giving him another year we might as well get an actual defensive coordinator, maybe a current assistant. Let him get his system in place during our fcs independent season.

Theres a reason hes still listed as interim defensive coordinator and this is it.
