Poor ODU will never have a national championship.

Poor ODU?........Sucks they wont win an FCS championship but I'm sure they are okay with it considering they got the call and are moving up to FBS.

Meanwhile, JMU continues to stay in FCS while everyone around them are moving on to bigger and better things....

BTW, who does JMU play in the playoffs this weekend?

One of their goals was to win a national championship at the FCS level. And yes, JMU needs to move up. Maybe they can move up into CUSA. But with markets ruling and ruining college football, it may not happen for a while. JMU and ODU should actually be in the same conference because the two can have a rivalry that would rival the OSU/Michigan rivalry or the Auburn/Alabama rivalry. It is a rivalry if it had time to develop more would have been extremely intense. Heck it was intense this year.

I'm sure the ODU-JMU rivalry would be intense but I don't think it would be on the level of ODU/Michigan or Auburn/Alabama.....

Just a guess.

Go ODU! And Congrats to Georgia Southern.

As well you should be. 04-cheers

The additional scholarships and the experience of playing football at the highest level of FCS in a pressure situation is going to equip you well for playing C-USA going forward. Looking forward to our game next year, looks like it is going to be a tough one for both defenses.

I bet it would, if you ever read the intense bickering between the two, go to one of the games, you would know it would be and can be. At the game earlier this year after ODU beat us, fights nearly broke out between several of the fans.

Tough one! That gamble your coach took on 4th and 6 was a huge momentum changer. Still a great season. Looking forward to seeing you guys in CUSA. Looks like you have a great game day atmosphere down there!

Poor JMU. They will never beat ODU or play a game that will be cared about outside of Harrisonburg,

Great game ODU....proud of my Eagles. Looking forward to winning more championships in the Sun Belt since our market is too small for CUSA. Had we moved up like everyone else in the late 80's or even late 90's we would probably be in CUSA today.

ODU looks like Marshall. Huge passing offense, no defense. I was rooting for you. Too bad we'll never see Cato vs Heineke

Not as long as the Admin you have there now. I read where your president said he would not move to FBS unless it was to a "BIG" conference. I take that to mean the ACC. Ive seen the same statements come from Delaware too.

The old president definitely. But the new one is definitely a sports guy. President Alger comes from some big time conferences and understands that athletics it's the front porch to a university. Also UD has been doing an internal FBS study-this has been reported in newspapers. Back to JMU, the new president has only been in office for like 5 months, I am sure how is still getting us to things.

Very impressed with ODU's effort yesterday and with the wonderful fan support you enjoy. Looking forward to beginning our future conference relationship with the Monarchs.
