This.

The two would be perfect for the MWC. The first one doesn't have an AD and is facing what could be severe NCAA sanctions for association with a gambling site. The second one is located in El Armpit, immediately across the border from what aside from spots in Afghanistan is the most dangerous city on earth.

You go, Mountain West!

The BE is always talked about during fb season. just the talk hasn't been positive.
The BB schools will add if it helps, and the FB schools will not be against that.
Both sides needs the other side. The sum of the parts is greater than the parts alone.

The Big East is never mentioned on CFB live or College Gameday. NEVER! We get no mention at all.

Aresco has stated multiple times that the contract will be broken up to maximize the value. No way we lump everything together.

I don't mean this to be argumentative since I always enjoy your posts. But with due respect, what's the point of having the football and non-football schools in the same conference if that's the case? Why not just split up now and call it a day? (FWIW, I couldn't care less one way or another whether we stay together but that's just me, I suppose.)

To me, this means Air Force is not #14. But it sets up to where we might add Air Force in a later expansion to 16 football schools. The AF Super can say: "Hey, I was looking for ways to make the MWC stronger, including taking back Boise and SDSU. But they declined. Then Fresno left. Don't blame us. They broke it. We tried to fix it. When that didn't work, we had no choice but to leave."

Agree with your analysis there. The Big East should take Fresno State because it probably leads to Boise State and SDSU staying while making BYU and Air Force reconsider their options.

The solid choice about Frenso State is that they could jump with their oly sports easily getting into the Big West with Boise and SDSU. AF would be problematic.

BYU could come just as easily Fresno, but the Big East will need to cave to all their demands which could be a deal breaker now. And then the Big East would be subjected to their yearly, continual threat that they want to the B12. So unlike Frenso, BYU would not bring long term stability to the BE which is what we need for a few years. Still, I have to admit that if they would come it would be the best team the Big East could get.

I believe the MW ship has sailed even if BSU & SDSU stay in the BE. I believe Fresno would have gone 2 months ago but the BE procrastination has allowed the MW to recommit and build solidarity.

There is no solidarity in college athletics. Don't believe that nonsense. I bet Fresno, UNLV, Colorado State, New Mexico, and Nevada would jump in a nano second to the Big East.

And particularly none in the MWC. In the last two years that conference has lost Utah, BYU, TCU, SDSU and Boise and is replacing them with Fresno and Hawaii, which are of some value but not equivalent to any of the schools leaving, Nevada, which is of very limited value, and Utah State and SJSU, which are worse than worthless since they bring far less "food" than their "mouths" are going to eat.

If the BE invited all 5 in an all sports conference with the rest of the BE football schools then that would be a different. All would jump in a NY minute.

How is that different than what's happened in the Big East? They've lost their marquee programs and are back-filling with weakness. I don't mean you and Boise, but since then.

MWC Presidents are meeting this weekend. Some discussion of taking back former members. It's not just a troll thing.
