Tulsa's Bill Blankenship named C-USA Coach of the Year
Blankenship guided Tulsa to its first C-USA football championship since 2005. Tulsa is 10-3 and will play Iowa State in the Liberty Bowl on New Year's Eve. He is 18-8 in his first two seasons as TU's Head Coach.

Congrats Coach B!

Congrats to him! Well deserved. He seems like a man you will have around for a long time which is a rarity these days.

Hope so. He has several family members who've stayed in the area to work and live - I don't see him leaving if TU is nice. He is a TU grad and actually has been one of our biggest TU backers for a long time. His son Josh who played at TU under that moron of a coach Keith Burns (what a loser) is now head coach at one of the premier coaching jobs in Oklahoma - Muskogee. He has another on the TU staff that is absolutely a super defensive coach, is young and will be a college coordinator one day and probably a head man as well.

BB has an extensive coaching tree. He's easy to be around, work with (and for) and engenders great effort out of the players who just love him. We are very lucky. But eventually he'll want to retire - I look for him to do that here. IMO

No brainer IMO. The fact that he had the season he had in just his second year spells trouble for Tulsa's future opponents.
