sad.

This commentary about Memphians.

Sad.

The upperclassmen, mostly Memphians, have been a great influence on the newcomers too.

Give it a rest.

They had way too much unwarrented pressure/expectation on them. It's better for young inexperienced kids to play as underdogs, not feeling entitled to anything, than as a team expecting to reach the Final Four (as they spoke about even as Freshmen).

No spin, mimi.

Evidence is in the pudding. CC standing at the freethrow line and bird watching while Shaq runs around him to grab the rebound is the reason VCU and Minny punked us.

I'm glad to see we have some players who don't buy into such nonchalant behavior. Besides, organized havoc is the coach term. Nothing havoc about the effort from the upperclassmen so far...

RE: Parrish on Johnson
Johnson is big for this team for many reasons, the no 1 reason to me is he takes unmeasurable weight off the shoulders of Joe Jackson. Teams can no longer game plan to just make the game hard for Joe Jackson in order to beat Memphis. Joe can now play without so much of the spot light directly on him for the way we play. Its huge what that does for this team. It causes huge match up problems for any coach trying to draw up a game plan against Memphis.

RE: Parrish on Johnson
Geron Johnson reminds me a lot of Antonio Anderson with his hustle, toughness and defensive play only he seems to be able to score more than AA. I hope he turns into being a leader that AA was, since that is what this team badly needs.

RE: Parrish on Johnson
I like how Parrish conveniently left out the part that he himself was ripping Pastner about recruiting and signing GJ... I believe his exact phrase was "once a knucklehead, always a knucklehead" in reference to Geron. And also that he didn't understand why Pastner would recruit a kid like this if he was trying to change the perception of Tiger basketball players. It's amazing how scoring 20+ points in a game can change GP's perception all of a sudden.

Shouldn't matter. We are in this year. The best should win the awards.

Lets not get crazy.... there was a freshman on our team last night with 20 and 9....

Nice argument to have. We'll have an answer as the year goes on.

All can have their opinions.

No right or wrong.

My comment was that you were sad.
