Going into the game downtown against FSU would be amazing. Would love to have that place rocking with 11K-12K.

If we win tonight, I think 11-12k may be doable. We'll be hurt by students being away though. The $25 tickets may also scare away casual fans. You can go to a Bobcats game for a lot less than that.

Yeah, but the basketball isn't as good.

Weren't all the previous games (Wake, Maryland, Tenn) there $25?

They were always included in the season ticket package. Not sure how much they cost if you were to buy single game tickets.

RE: Charlotte 49ers Basketball Thread
tough game. Miami has to be one of the biggest teams in the country. And they're not just tall, they're strong, fast, and athletic.

They're solid at pretty much every position. I didn't expect to win this game, but certainly didn't expect this result either. Miami is probably the worst matchup we could have faced.

12 blocked shots is just brutal.

I'm sure you guys will bounce back. Miami is a pretty talented team, and you guys were probably due a bad game. It happens basketball is such a long season and every team will have a few games where you just don't have it.

Kennesaw State should be a good bounce back game.

I still like our chances against FSU. They're more in line with our size. Their starting line-up is around the same size as ours and I don't think they have any major contributors over 6'9.

FSU is a game we need to win if we want people to take us seriously. If we lose that one, we don't play another really solid opponent until late January or February. A schedule like that doesn't get you into the NCAA tournament.

Our team at Miami might win the ACC this year. Yes, they're that good. They'll finish at least Top 3, I'd venture to say. Not a bad loss at all, Miami is top 25 material.

Ummm; no.

Miami 51
Florida Gulf Coast 63

But I can believe that every team has a tough night every once in a while.

I think they'll finish 4th or 5th; but the FGCU game is misleading because they didn't have their full team for the game AND had an off night. They were missing Scott, their best player.

Ummm, yes....Durand Scott (their leading scorer, best player) missed that game AND it was played at FGC (who actually is good this year). Miami finished 4th in ACC last year and are definitely better this year. They lost no one of consequence from last years team.

Again, Miami finished 4th last year and are better this year....no doubt about it......They will finish 4th (possibly 3rd----surpass UNC-CH?). Duke and NCSU will be 1 and 2.

Charlotte returned to the floor on Sunday, notching a 14-point win over Kennesaw State. Charlotte shot 64.3% from the floor and held the Owls to 37.7%. The Owls started off blazing hot, hitting 6 of their first 9 or 10 threes, but cooled off in the second half. Kennesaw State drops to 1-8 on the year and Charlotte improves to 10-1.

Miami is huge and good but still no reason to get run out of the gym. I have to keep reminding myself this is still a young team that is going to take its lumps. Hopefully they chalk that one up as learning experience and move on.

It was a 12 point game with 9 minutes to play (10-14 most of the game), but we looked like we decided to quit trying with about 8-9 minutes left. They ended the game on a run of something like 25-7. It wasn't like we were behind 30 all night......remember, we are starting and playing 3 freshmen and 2 sophomores big minutes.

11-1 heading into the game Saturday. Better than what I thought we would be at this point.

RE: Charlotte 49ers Basketball Thread
Radford is trash. I found myself laughing several times last night because the basketball was just so bad.

We looked good until we started testing the 1-3-1.

I'll take the win, but in the first half we looked like we'd cruise to a 30-40 point win and then we started experimenting in the 2nd and it took us out of our rhythm.
