Adversity? How many minutes did Tarik get tonight? Nice message sent by Coach Pastner...

Yep. Gotta earn those minutes back.

Yep-it is.

And I apologize.

I've read too much build up of Ohio by other posters.

Seems like that's a tendency when we play these dang weak schedules.

Ohio had a decent resume, but, sadly, the lower bowl attendance is a fairly good indicator of what paying fans actually think about an opponent.

Its not that. The team played with some moxie. I haven't seen that since JP started coaching. Geron Johnson is one intense dude. Did you see him running the point giving directions to everyone. He might have the rest of the players afraid of him. haha

I know its just one game. Something was different tonight. It was like F this bull****, we're going to do it. If Coach Kid can keep it going, we're going to be a force. The talent level of this team is off the charts. AT and Black were almost non factors. Wait til they get it going.

I agree with all that. But all I'm saying is that if we are one of the best teams in the nation, like we should be with our talent level, then we need to beat a nationally relevant team for me to totally buy into the 'we've turned the corner' argument. We need to beat Louisville. Josh needs a signature win. Bottom line. We have too much talent to consider home wins vs. MAC teams, great wins.

They (Ohio) went deeper in the tournament than Memphis did last year.

They were also within a few seconds on making the Elite Eight.
Lets not down them because the Tigers beat them or they dont play in the right conference.

The Tigers just dismantled a good team, period.

We've turned the corner from what we saw in Atlantis. I think that's fair. We just need to keep it going.

RE: I think we turned the corner tonight.
It was a good performance against what looks to be a quality opponent. We made them look silly.

That's easy to do when you turn a team over like that. Didn't hurt that Ohio was such a poor rebounding team either. This was exactly the type of game designed to make our players look their best. Turn them over, rebound, get out on the break.

We still looked lost running a half court offense. And Adonis' performance continues to be perplexing. We'll see how it all translates to a better rebounding team that takes better care of the basketball.

Have we turned a corner? No one can say for sure. If you look back at the season from a sweet sixteen, it could be that this is the game you look back on where everything started going the right way. If we stumble through the rest of the season...

I'm not saying you shouldnt enjoy the win. You should! I sure did. Or that it wasn't an impressive performance. It certainly was that. But it's way too early in the game to say one way or the other that a corner has been turned.

To his credit, Tarik Black was on the end of the bench nearest the coaching staff. He was repeatedly on his feet high fiving the other players and being positive. Congratulating the other guys as they made their way to the bench during timeouts.

I guess you could say he was an energy giver.

Geron Johnson and Shaq Goodwin are as good as advertised... Each game they play they are getting more comfortable on the court... Credit Pastner for pushing the tempo and dictating to Ohio how the game was going to be played... Let's keep it up Tigers!!!

Why can't we enjoy a great win for a couple of days, w/o giving it the Dr. Freud treatment, and trying to make every game a referendum on the past games or seasons, or whatever? We played great. We beat a good team.

Nothing more or less to say. Leave it at that. Look forward to the next game, and hope we play well again.

I agree. I miss the old days before the internets when we simply waited for the next game.

I miss when the economy was good and all I had to do was show up for work and give everyone a golf wave.

Tarik's attitude was great tonight.

And I love how DJ left the court at the end of the game with his arm around Adonis, talking to him.

This is a team that is pulling for each other. I don't know at this point who might be NBA-gone at the end of the season, but I do know the sky is the limit for this TEAM.

RE: I think we turned the corner tonight.
We played great. Folks discounting Ohio and saying we should have "handled" a MAC team need to remember one thing: If we don't beat Louisville, this will be our best win of the year. Ohio is good and will win a lot of games.

On turning the corner tonight....it's an easy thing to say when you have a game that goes like this game did. Let's see the body language of certain guys the next time they or the team struggle badly. Let's wait until someone decides to leave the team for 2 days pondering his future. As great as we looked tonight, it's easy to think/hope this is the turning point, but I am not sure this team and certain players aren't soft as charmin. Some have bad psyche. At this point, it's kind of in the DNA and one great performance doesn't change that. Let's see these guys FIGHT LIKE TIGERS, then I will join in your optimism.

In game adversity...

Like being down 8-2, cant hit a shot? Then once they picked it up and get close, give up a 3? This team let that kind of adversity get to them in the bahamas... Not last night. No one dropped their head an pouted. Something is different for sure.

The lid is on the basket for Adonis. He should be hitting the shots he takes. When he doesnt square up to the basket though his shot is off. He seems to be getting to the spot on the floor he needs to get too though. His shots will start dropping soon IMO.
