I just hope he can play this way against big time teams and on the road. We need to beat Lewis Ville to get some national respect.

Back on the bandwagon huh?

His poise and use of his body to defect other players in transition was amazing.

I LOVED the breakaway layup he was going up for and the Cooper kid from Ohio was running with him stride for stride on his left-hand side to try and act like he was going to bother his layup attempt. Geron simply lowered his shoulder a little bit to the left and wooosh.......down goes Cooper, while GJ scores at the rim uncontested. I LOVED that. You're bigger, stronger, and when you know it and have an attitude like his, those are the things you have to do to show your are mentally tough. If Tarik Black would have the same attitude when trying to get post position, NOBODY would front him. He has the ability to pin someone on his back and not let them get around without seriuosly fouling.....but it is all about mentality. "I AM going to plant my feet here, with my body angled between myself and the defender and my man is NOT going to get around my body to deny me the ball!" If only we could put GJ's heart and mind into some of our other guys........

I did, and the ref looked tempted to blow the whistle.

I've noticed him getting a little "chippy" before; but that's going to happen.

RE: GERON FREAKIN JOHNSON
Geron’s play isn’t a total surprise to me. There was plenty of in-game videos on him showing what he could do and how he plays. Some of his videos and stats were posted right here.

The word on some of the NBA boards was not only is Geron the best at his position in junior college, he was the best at his position in all of college basketball.

They may be right.

He reminds me of someone but I can't remember who. His 55 makes me think of Arthur Barclay?

On the side line incident, their guard kept his elbow in Johnson's side a second or two too long as Johnson was walking away. Johnson came back and elbowed him back and started the clapping. Shortly afterwards, Johnson goes out of his way to elbow the guy on the breakaway. He's lucky there was no call on that, but I'm not sure the refs realized what happened in real time. As far as the clapping, he loves to intimidate and get in the other guy's head. I love it when his man gets the ball and he starts clapping as he is guarding him. It's like he loves defending the ball and having an opportunity to disrupt the other team.
BTW- I wondered for a second if Josh was really happy about the elbow on Johnson's breakaway. It was almost too "dirty" for a Pastner team. Also, their big guy plowed over Tarik on the next possession and we got a no call on an obvious charge. Can you say, "make up call."

We all see things in our own way. I watched the Geron push the guy to get separation. It looked like a wide receiver nudging a corner. I also thought Tarik flopped. Which is a good thing. The smaller guy did bump him but Black fell down like he just got shot out of a cannon.

And he is respectful, after, more or less, stiff-arming him, after he scored he ran over to him to help him back up. That's a thing you don't see very often in sports is good sportsmanship. He's a great athlete, and asset to this team. He'll give Louisville all they can handle if he plays like he has the last two games.
